Answer |
If we already have Atlassian Access, will we be required to upgrade to Atlassian Guard Standard on June 12? |
No, if you already have Atlassian Access, there are no changes to your current product functionality or billing experience. In-product changes in admin.atlassian.com for Atlassian Guard Standard went into effect on June 12, 2024 PT, and you will see the new name and logo. |
How is Atlassian Access different from Atlassian Guard? |
Atlassian Access has historically offered identity and access management capabilities (IAM). Recently, in response to your evolving security needs, Access expanded to provide IAM and insights and audit logs, and the Beacon beta program introduced threat detection and response capabilities. This is now one singular product family – Atlassian Guard, available in two plans - Standard and Premium. Specifically, Atlassian Access is now the Atlassian Guard Standard plan and will continue to provide you with seamless authentication and authorization and enhanced visibility and auditing. To learn about the full evolution of Atlassian’s cloud security offering, including our new Premium plan, check out our announcement blog. |
Is this demo only for Atlassian Guard Standard or does it also cover Premium features? |
This demo highlights key features available in both Atlassian Guard Standard and Premium but goes into more detail on the Standard plan. If you want to learn more about Atlassian Guard Premium, register for a demo here. |
Does Atlassian Guard Premium support multiple identity provider (IdP) setup? |
No. Support for multiple identity providers (IdP) is exclusive to the Cloud Enterprise plan. Atlassian’s Cloud Enterprise plan is designed to provide enhanced scale, security and compliance, advanced analytics, and support compared to other cloud plans - especially important for large, complex enterprises. |
Can data classification and security policies be used to restrict access to content? not just actions related to the content? |
Currently, page/site permissions allow read/write access to specific content. Data Security Policies using data classifications will block some key features (like export), not direct access to the content. For automatic restriction of access to content, we recommend using user provisioning to map user groups with product access and permissions. |
You've shown us how security policies can limit some actions related to Confluence and Jira content. I've also read about the possibility of linking data classification levels with security policies. Is it possible to restrict access (e.g. through Confluence page restrictions) according to data classification levels applied to content (e.g. Confluence pages)? |
No. Currently, data security policies can be applied using classifications as coverage to prevent certain actions on pages (like export), but restricting access to the content based on classification levels for chosen users isn’t possible. For automatic restriction of access to content, we recommend relying on user provisioning to map user groups with product access and permissions. |
