Hi Atlassian Community, I'm currently facing an issue with the Email This Issue (ETI) plugin in Jira Service Management, and despite multiple attempts to resolve it, I haven’t found a working solution.
The Problem: When users reply to email notifications generated by the ETI plugin, the system adds the entire email thread (including quoted/old content) as a new comment on the Jira ticket. This behaviour clutters the comments section with redundant information, making it difficult to track the actual responses.
I’ve followed the documentation provided by the ETI team, including the instructions outlined here, but it hasn’t worked for my setup. Specifically, the following attempts have failed:
Your guidance would be invaluable, and I’d greatly appreciate any advice or tips to troubleshoot further. Thank you in advance for your help!
Hi @Jalesa Rogers ,
Welcome to the community!
I'm from the Email This Issue support team, and would be happy to help with this configuration.
Please note that we use different regex syntax between Cloud and On-Prem instances.
The Cloud Split Regex article is this one: Using Split Regex - Email This Issue Cloud
Troubleshooting issues related to Split Regex configuration thoroughly often requires access to specific details, such as a copy of a test email and your mail handler settings.
To ensure privacy and data security I will limit our troubleshooting efforts to the support ticket you have opened with us. I have already sent you our preliminary findings based on the details you have shared.
If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out here, or on the support ticket.
Best regards,
István

Reach out to the support department of the app, as you tried using the documentation. And this seems to be not working for you.
