Jira Structure: Group by Sprint and Group by Parent is not giving proper hierarchy view

JK August 22, 2024

Hi, we are trying to create a Jira Structure, to have hierarchical view from Initiative, Epic, Stories.

For planning purpose, when we add 'Group by Sprint', then above view is getting broken into 2 groups,

1st with Initiative > Backlog > Epic > Stories

2nd with Sprint name > Stories

we are trying to have a merged view, which should show Initiative at 1st level, then Sprint, then Epics and stories

and second view is, Initiative at 1st level, then Epics, then Sprint, then Stories under those Sprint

Hello @JK

If you're adding parent issues to the structure using a Group generator, you need to enable the 'Consider other groups' option in the Group by Sprint generator to ensure that it takes all issues into consideration. Also, it might be required to change the order of Group generators in the structure - if you move one under the other, the appearance of groups in the structure will change.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reach out to us directly at our support portal and we'll look into your setup.

Best regards,
