Is there any Alternative plugin for WorklogPro Plugin

Sravan Indukur September 3, 2024

Hi Team,

Greetings of the Day.

We recently migrated from Jira Server to Cloud. And in Server "WorklogPro Plugin" is having more custamizable options. But in cloud we have very limited options.

Can anyone suggest any alternative plugin for "Worklog Pro"

This is the plugin we are using:

Hi @Sravan Indukur ,

If you are looking for a time tracking application with a wide variety of customisation options on the cloud version, then I recommend the application made by our developers at SolDevelo called “Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports".

Worklogs allows you to precisely filter the company’s logged work with a wide range of filters such as users, issues, issue types, labels and more. Additionally, you can display the data for a specific date range with a breakdown by day, week, month or year.

It's worth noting that the app uses Jira's native time tracing and time logs, meaning that any time tracked previously with this method before its installation will be present in Worklogs.

Moreover, you can save the filtered worklogs as a report and then even export it to a spreadsheet XLSX file.

Worklogs also offer a variety of additional options such as changing the time unit, timezone, hiding non-working days and more:

I hope you'll like it! If you are interested, I will be happy to answer any questions that you might have. So, feel free to book a free demo here.

Have a great day!

Best regards,

Below are the features need in Time Log Plugin for Innovapptive

Need to restrict daily work log hours. (ex: must not exceed 8 hours per day)

  1. Must not allow to enter log for past 2 weeks and post 1 week
  2. While entering the time log/sheet: need to fill mandatory fields details, else it must not allow to enter the log.
  3. Log time must be adjusted automatically:  based on the number of hours added, User must not manually enter the start and end time, it must be adjusted automatically.
  4. Need to have period option to select the log information. (as we have the option filter the results based on month, week, they need the option based on period in the drop down. (lets say period of 8 days: 1-8th, 9th-16, 17th-24, 25-1, 2nd-9th and so on)
  5. Need to have option to select approver, and after submitting the approver, notification must be sent to approver regarding the same. And Approver needs to approve the submitted log.
  6. Need to export logs work report with required custom fields in the report.

Will the above features are covered by this plugin?

Hi @Sravan Indukur ,

welcome to the Community. I'd like to bring our app, Timetracker to your attention. Similarly to WorklogPro, it offers:
- worklog editor customizations (including calendar view)
- customizable reports and timesheets including grouping by custom fields
- Jira dashboard gadgets
- Excel and PDF exports.
- extra worklog attributes, tags, billable/non-billable markings

One difference you might want to be aware of is that while the Cloud version of WorklogPro is built with Forge, ours is built on Connect, which in practice and in short means we would also store some of your data (inside the EU, with compliance to the Atlassian Cloud Fortified Security badge).

Feel free to start a trial or book a demo through the link above if you want to learn more.
Best,
Daniel

Hi @Sravan Indukur

While Jira Cloud offers built-in time tracking, it lacks the advanced customization options provided by tools like "Worklog Pro" on Jira Server.

If you're looking for a robust alternative, Time & Cost Tracker for Jira is a comprehensive solution that extends Jira Cloud’s capabilities.

Here are some features that may be helpful based on your usage scenario:

1. Advanced Worklog Reporting:

  • You can generate detailed time reports filtered by project, epic, sprint, or user. This is ideal for teams managing large-scale projects with multiple team members.
  • Reports can be customized to display specific fields, such as the issue ID, summary, user, worklog date, and duration.
  • You can also add custom fields to your reports for even greater flexibility.1fe09bff-3695-4647-b1ba-8f2c0a63f4ec.png

2. Time & Cost Integration:

  • In addition to time tracking, the add-on integrates cost management. You can calculate labor costs by multiplying logged hours by each user’s hourly rate. This is useful for teams needing to track project costs or provide billing information to clients.
  • The built-in cost tracker feature ensures that your team's worklogs are automatically associated with financial data for cost analysis.11d7ab08-13cd-48c4-b61c-d23513534f22.png

3. Recurring & One-time Expenses:

  • If you're dealing with expenses on projects, Time & Cost Tracker for Jira allows you to manage both recurring and one-time expenses directly within Jira. You can associate these expenses with specific projects or issues, giving you a clear view of the overall project cost.

4. Timesheet Views:

  • If you need a holistic view of your worklogs, the Timesheet feature allows you to view and manage worklogs across multiple tasks in a structured, calendar-like format.a3f3dc63-aa6b-48ec-92b7-93cb3c4e186c.png

5. Export to Excel:

  • Once you've customized your report, exporting to Excel is just a click away. You’ll get a well-organized spreadsheet, breaking down worklogs by issue, making it easy to analyze or share with stakeholders.

Getting Started with Time & Cost Tracker for Jira:

  1. Install Time & Cost Tracker:

  2. Configure Time Reports:

    • Go to the Time & Cost Tracker section in Jira.
    • Generate a time report by applying filters for projects, users, or date ranges.
    • Customize your report with the columns and details you need (e.g., issue ID, worker, worklog details).
  3. Set Hourly Rates for Cost Tracking (optional):

    • If you’re interested in tracking costs, set hourly rates for team members. This feature helps calculate the total project cost, useful for both internal tracking and client billing.
  4. Export Reports:

    • Export your customized time or cost reports to Excel or CSV formats, giving you the flexibility to analyze or share the data as needed.

By using Time & Cost Tracker, you’ll gain detailed, customizable reporting capabilities similar to Worklog Pro, while also benefiting from additional cost management features.

Hello @Sravan Indukur

Clockwork Free or PRO is a good replacement for you in the cloud.

First, once installed, automatically syncs with existing worklogs.

Also, users can manually or automatically log time. For manual, users can use the Log work form or the quick add; as shown:

QUICK ADD

For Automatic, when an issue is transitioned to active status, the timer is started until it returns to a non-active status. The timer helps users automatically calculate how long it takes to work on an issue.

Clockwork also provides a detailed Timesheet of all Worklogs and authors and allows you to filter by many fields, including custom field values.

The Timesheet provides you with the opportunity to email users who have not filled in the Timesheet to meet the required working hours.

You can export the Timesheet as CSV files and even use our API to get Worklogs created within a Period.

Clockwork provides many other features like validators, billing periods, and many more.

I will gladly give you a DEMO of the app, so please reach out here.
