Smart Checklist Error

When we try to mark an item on a Smart Checklist complete, it does not change the status of the item (doesn't mark it done), and we get 2 error messages:

"Unexpected end of JSON input"

"Couldn't change item status"

We are also unable to import Smart Checklist templates.

My team has just started to use Smart checklist and are having this same issue.
the thread says this was resolved however we are experiencing this today.

Unfortunately, a temporary downtime is associated with some issues on Jira's side. We're on it.

At the moment, the fixing of the issue relies on the Atlassian team as it was confirmed that it's caused by the Jira API outage.
