Crowd User Management - Ep 1 : Auto user Deactivation and Group Removal

Harshit bhagat January 16, 2024

Hey folks,

Welcome to the Crowd Bulk User Management series.

In the dynamic landscape of user administration, efficiency and automation are paramount. miniOrange Crowd Bulk User Management is a powerful tool that helps streamline user management, optimize licenses, and automate tasks for enhanced productivity. Import/export users with ease, automate activation/deactivation, and simplify user recertification.

Our series will delve into each feature, starting with Episode 1: Auto user Deactivation and Group Removal.

1. Auto-Deactivation for Inactive Users:

  • Users who haven't logged in within a specified timeframe are automatically deactivated.
  • This not only enhances security by reducing the potential for unauthorized access but also contributes to significant license cost savings by adjusting user tiers.

2. Never-Logged-In Users Deactivation:

  • Accounts that have never been logged into are systematically deactivated, maintaining a clean and efficient user database.

3. Scheduled Login Activity Checks:

  • Our scheduler regularly checks the last user log-in period based on the schedule set by administrators.
  • Users who exceed the specified number of days since their last login are automatically deactivated.

4. Access Restriction for Prolonged Inactivity:

  • In addition to deactivation, application access for users with prolonged inactivity can be restricted or modified.
  • This ensures that the application's access is allocated efficiently, aligning with the principle of least privilege.

5. User-Friendly Deactivation Notifications:

  • Before deactivation, an email notification is automatically sent to the user, allowing them to reactivate their account by simply logging in.
  • Admins have the flexibility to customize these notifications, ensuring a personalized and user-friendly experience.

6. Auto-Reactivation on Login Attempt & Control:

  • For user convenience, an auto-reactivation feature is in place.
  • Users attempting to log in after deactivation are seamlessly reactivated, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
  • Admins have the discretion to enable or disable the auto-reactivation feature, providing control over the level of automation based on organizational preferences.

Stay tuned for our next episode featuring import/export of users and groups using CSV. If you have any questions or want to see the plugin in action, reach us  at
