Hi everyone!

I'm new here and to the Atlassian ecosystem, but I've had a blast over the past 4 months getting to know this community since I started working at Seibert (an Atlassian solution partner).

Earlier this month, I hosted our first webinar to answer questions around the merger of Jira Work Management with Jira Software. We had a great conversation, so I'd like to share the video recording that I hope adds to the conversation about work management, and how teams can collaborate effectively.

A few of the things I learned include...

  • Tools can help make a team more efficient, but not more effective
  • Sometimes the default settings in Jira are the best place to start
  • It's important for Jira admins to understand how work happens on different teams (marketing, HR, dev, etc) so that they can encourage more teams to collaborate on Jira and reduce shadow IT

If you get the chance to watch the recording, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hello @Katie Lai ,

I'm so pleased you posted this. I watched your video and I'm interested in learning more about what's happening. In my organisation we are using Jira Software for the Software Dev teams and JWM for business projects. I heard about this being combined, but not how this is going to look for a user interface perspective. Is more information about this coming soon?

Thank you,

Marion

Hi @Marion Richardson , I'm glad you found this helpful! :)

We wrote an article giving an overview of the merger that might help answer some of your user interface questions: https://seibert.group/us/jira-work-management-jira-software-the-new-jira/

Many teams use both Jira Software and JWM, so Atlassian is trying to make the transition as smooth and easy as possible. Here's a bit more info about the process that's been shared so far by Atlassian - https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/jira-core#both-jwm-jsw
