How does Rock your Sprint Review work?

Rock your Sprint Review makes use of OpenAI’s ChatGPT to condense issue information like description, summary, comments, and story points into easily digestible bullet points. The app can be accessed from the “Apps” section of the sidebar navigation of any project. From there, you will be able to select which sprint you want to select issues from. Completed issues come pre-selected, but you can add or remove as many issues as you like from the selection. Then, simply hit the “generate slides” button, and that’s it. Go grab a coffee while Rock your Sprint Review generates the presentation for you, as your slides are automatically generated and will be ready to download just a few minutes later. It really is that simple!

What does the presentation look like?

The presentation starts off with general information about the sprint. This includes a one-line summary of the main focus of the sprint, generated by going over all issues in the sprint, as well as information on the number of story points completed.

Then follow individual slides focusing on one or more issues completed, providing a few bullet points and, if enabled, a DALL-E image generated based on the content of the slide. Here, ChatGPT has the freedom to choose which issues go onto which slides, and group similar issues together.

Finally, the presentation concludes with a few slides on longstanding issues and blockers resolved for future sprints. At the moment, the slide backgrounds are selected from a set of AI generated slide backgrounds we created and curated, but we plan on adding support for custom themes and templates in the future.

How do I link my OpenAI API key?

In order to access ChatGPT, you will have to link an OpenAI API key with access to GPT-4 to Rock your Sprint Review. This is done from the app administration page. Simply follow the guidelines on how to obtain your API key from OpenAI, then paste it into the box. It will remain hidden from all users once input, and is at the sole control of your organization’s Confluence admins.
