Are you looking for more advanced sorting options for your Confluence tables? Do you want to enhance the look of Confluence tables, and make them more efficient? For over a decade, the Server version of Table Enhancer for Confluence has been delivering a lightweight solution for such needs. Inspired by Atlassian's journey to the Cloud, we have been working on bringing our app to the Cloud as well. Now, we are happy to announce that Table Enhancer for Confluence is also available in the Cloud with its full functionality.
Table Enhancer for Confluence provides the users with a macro which allows them to more customization and sorting options for their tables. After installing the app to your Cloud instance from the Atlassian Marketplace, you can simply add the Table Enhancer macro to the Confluence page that contains your table. In contrast to the DC version of our app, you cannot directly put a table inside a macro body as this is not supported in the Cloud. To select a table in your page for enhancement, you need to provide the index of the table (tables on a Confluence page are indexed from top to the bottom of the page, and starting from 1) in the Table number section in the configuration of the Table Enhancer macro you have added.
Since the original table cannot be embedded inside the Table Enhancer macro, it is also rendered along with the enhanced table provided by our macro. One can hide the original table via an Expand macro in order to improve the user experience. We want to improve the UX here using the new Table Referentiality feature from Atlassian as soon as it is released for Forge apps. There is also an issue in the Atlassian Ecosystem to allow body functionality in the Cloud macros, which would help us improve the user experience significantly. So, feel free vote for it if you are interested in better user experience with the Table Enhancer for Confluence :-).
The Cloud version of Table Enhancer for Confluence provides all of the features that are available for the Server / Data Center version of the app. With many users of Atlassian products transitioning to the Cloud versions, we thought making Table Enhancer for Confluence available to the Cloud would be valuable not only to those who have never tried our app but also to those who are familiar with the Server / Data Center version but have recently switched to the Cloud. Below you can find some of the prominent features of Table Enhancer for Confluence:
If you are looking for a tool that allows basic arithmetic operations in your table, then Table Enhancer is exactly what you need. Table Enhancer for Confluence enables you to add a total line that sums the values in each column with numeric entries, and records the total values in a separate row below the table.
Assume that you have a table that contains the names and ages of several people, and you would like to know which one of your 21 years old participant's ID number is the largest. Achieving this is just a few clicks away with Table Enhancer for Confluence. In the example below, you can easily find the person with the largest ID Number whose age is 21.
Table Enhancer also provides extra customization regarding the row numbering that works with multi-column sorting. You can choose to number your columns before, after or independent of your multi-sort. Below you can see the same table from above. On the left, the table rows are numbered after the initial sorting, and on the left the rows are numbered before the initial sorting.
Table Enhancer for Confluence allows you to fix a given number of columns on the left, and a given number of rows at the top of your table. This feature is particularly helpful if you want to compare cells in a large table.
If you have already been enjoying Table Enhancer for Confluence in your DC instance and would like to move to the Cloud soon, then you must be wondering how to migrate your Table Enhancer macros. Starting a Cloud migration using Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant will migrate your spaces and pages, but this will migrate the Table Enhancer macros only partially and you have to take care of a few steps manually. We provide a guide on how to manually migrate your Table Enhancer macro in here. We will also be providing a semi-automated migration tool soon, which will allow Cloud admins to handle the migration more seamlessly.
If you are still not convinced, or if you want to see the Table Enhancer for Confluence in action, then you find the Cloud version of Table Enhancer for Confluence in the Atlassian Marketplace. Just start a free trial and let us know what you think. We are always eager to receive feedback on how we can further improve our service.
