First of all, I would like to use this opportunity to get your input on how you use Confluence Data Center (or Cloud) and Google Chat. Please share your use cases in the comments below.
Secondly, I would like to share a few use cases I've seen the customers of Google Chat Confluence integration shared:
- stay on top of new blog posts from other teams. Create a Google Chat space, f.e. confluence-others-posts-feed, feed helps differentiate channels/spaces where only 3rt-party tools are posting, and people are not meant to share the updates. Setup a rule where you filter by the space (and if necessary labels) and receive alerts in that feed. It works for the internal product and team announcements, release notes etc.
- another interesting use case - watch people you care. If you are a manager, you can stay on top of your colleague's updates, or even follow more closely your boss. Using Google Chat integration for Confluence you can create a few rules where you specify the authors of the content and spaces you care to watch (including personal spaces). Setup a space for you only where you'll get all the updates.
Your colleagues will be surprised how knowledgeable you are now!
