It was an absolute pleasure taking part in yet another Atlassian's Codegeist, and we’re excited to showcase our latest innovation: Awesome Pills for Confluence. Designed to empower teams with customizable and dynamic statuslabel lozenges, Awesome Pills transforms how information is tracked and shared in Confluence. Here’s a closer look at what inspired us, what the app offers, and what’s next on the horizon.
The idea for Awesome Pills was born out of a common challenge: tracking and managing work in Confluence in a way that truly aligns with team workflows. While Atlassian’s core Status Macro offers a functional starting point, we noticed that it often fell short for teams with unique needs.
Our goal was to create something more flexible, visually engaging, and intuitive—a tool that adapts to different industries, team sizes, and project types. By introducing pill-shaped lonzenges, we’ve designed a solution that makes statuses clearer, more actionable, and easier to manage. Think of it as moving from static, rigid labels to a dynamic system that grows with your team.
At the heart of Awesome Pills is the ability to create customizable lozenges that represent key aspects of your workflow. Each pill is divided into:
Category: The left side of the pill, grouping items like "Status," "Priority," or "Department."
Label/Status: The right side, where you can choose from predefined options or create your own, such as "In Progress," "High Priority," or "Marketing."
These lozenges are not just visually appealing but also highly functional. You can color-code them, ensuring quick readability, and update them in real-time through a simple dropdown menu.
Gone are the days of static information. With Awesome Pills, teams can update statuses on the fly, reflecting changes instantly and keeping everyone aligned. Whether it’s marking tasks as “Done” or shifting priorities, this feature ensures your Confluence pages stay current and actionable.
Managing lozenges is a breeze with Awesome Pills’ dedicated interface. You can:
Add new statuses. labels or categories.
Edit lozenges names and colors for clarity.
Reorganize lozenges to reflect your team’s evolving workflows.
This feature provides full control, making it easy to standardize and adapt processes across teams.
Need to find specific lozenges or see where they’ve been used? The search tool lets you locate lozenges and view all pages where they appear. This is just the beginning—we’re committed to expanding this feature with advanced filters and analytics.
Awesome Pills is just getting started. We’re committed to building features that enhance collaboration and simplify workflows. Here’s what’s on our roadmap:
Advanced Search Capabilities: Add detailed filters, sorting, and even analytics to help teams find and track work more efficiently.
Template Support: Pre-built templates for Agile sprints, content approvals, and marketing campaigns to jumpstart your workflows.
Enhanced User Interface: Further refining the app’s design for a seamless user experience.
Analytics and Reporting: Gain insights into lozenges usage to optimize processes and identify bottlenecks.
Feedback-Driven Development: Your feedback matters! We’ll continue to evolve Awesome Pills based on real user needs.
Awesome Pills isn’t just another status tool—it’s a solution designed to grow with your team, helping you stay organized, aligned, and productive. Whether you’re a small team managing projects or an enterprise aligning across departments, Awesome Pills offers the flexibility and functionality you need to succeed.
