One of the core workflows in HR Service management is Employee Onboarding. Onboarding not only acquaints new employees with company’s culture but also offers organizations a unique opportunity to provide exceptional service. Yet, all too often, this is treated as a mere IT implementation rather than a chance to deliver excellence.
It all starts with a task, well a whole bunch of tasks!
For simplicity, let’s break it down:
Like any project management, the above steps require management visibility, monitoring, communication and collaboration.
Visualizing the onboarding process within a typical enterprise reveals a web of system integrations, workflows, and approvals. Surprisingly, even with these complexities, the majority of organizations still rely heavily on email communication for managing onboarding processes.
While the initial focus should be in managing the tasks in one place (Jira Service Management is no brainer here), true enablement is achieved if certain steps can be automated. Automation can get complex because this requires native integrations to HR systems. We strongly feel reducing the complexity of the integrations will enable HR business partners to provide a much better onboarding experience.
