JIRA web panel plugin location points

Jeremiah Bentch June 7, 2011
Is there a list of web panel location points? I am trying to create a new project admin web panel module and can't find what to specify in the location attribute for the plugin module.

Check out the web fragments documentation. It shows the list of available locations.

The admin area was completely redesigned in 4.4, and the web fragments documentation does not seem to have been updated to the new design yet. The project admin page seems to use the new plugin module type 'web panel' that was introduced in 4.4. The closest thing I could find on the web fragments page was this comment on web sections: "It is not possible to add your own web sections to the system.view.project.operations location." I was told it should be possible to do what I want in 4.4, I just can't figure out what location to use to attach my custom web panel.

Jeremiah, the web fragments documentation should be updated to reflect the admin redesign before we ship JIRA 4.4.

I dug through the source code for JIRA and found the project-admin-config-plugin and looked through its atlassian-plugin.xml. The location I needed was 'webpanels.admin.summary.right-panels' and 'webpanels.admin.summary.left-panels'.
