I'm writing a wiki-based user guide. How can I create a search box that limits its search to the pages in the user guide?

Hi Desmond, A simple approach is to use the Pagetree Search macro, which by default limits the search to children of the parent page you place the macro on. There is a parameter you can use to specify the root (parent) page, if the search box doesn't appear on or only on, the parent page. See details here:
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Pagetree+Search+Macro
(this is for v3.5...select documentation for other versions of Confluuence through the link at the top of the page).
You might also consider the Documentation theme to have a handy nav panel available for the user's convenience (in addition to the ability to find documents via search). You can see the theme in action at the link above, as Atlassian uses that theme for its own documentation (available for any spaces via Browse>Space Admin>Themes if you are running a 3.x version of Confluence).
