Hello, friends!
We have some big changes coming to the “Badges” tab of your profile, so read on for all the details.
Goodbye, badge levels
As part of improvements to our gamification program and to streamline the experience, we will be removing level badges from the “Badges” tab of your profile so we will only have one level system (the Kudos level system) going forward. (If you just panicked because you haven’t hit Level 10 yet, don’t worry; keep reading.)
Hello, reply badges!
We will be replacing these with another way to acknowledge your contributions by adding a series to reward comments you leave on other users' posts or in our community groups. These badges will be retroactive and do have email notifications associated with them. That means our tenured members may get a whole lot of notifications today of badges they’ve received. We’re sorry, but also we’re impressed.
The highest level of this badge will recognize users who have made 10,000 replies, and there are 5 of you. I apologize in advance to your inbox, but mostly I want to say thank you for all your contributions over the years, this is truly an amazing milestone!
Congratulations to these five community superstars: @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- @Jack Brickey, @Bill Sheboy, @Trudy Claspill and @John Funk! Keep an eye out for something special in your mailbox.
But what about Level 10?!?
Level 10 is a special achievement that is not going away yet! It will be moved to “Role badges” to indicate your Level 10 status and can still be earned for now. However, when we migrate to our new platform, Level 10 will no longer be earnable. (Although you will keep the badge on your profile, I pinky promise.)
Hint: If you are missing Level 10 and want to try and earn it, try writing an article or two! If you’re an Atlassian Author, you can find a topic to choose from here or reach out to communitymanagers@atlassian.com for more ideas.
I have thoughts!
We love to hear them! As always thoughts, questions, compliments, constructive criticism, compliments, suggestions, compliments, and compliments are welcome in the comments.
