Saying Hi

Hi all.  I've worked with Agile since the Manifesto.  I have a love-hate relationship with what it's become over the years, but I mostly find it's been useful and worthwhile.

I do see more organizations that are only Agile in name than in actual practice.

Welcome to the Agile group @Shawn Doyle - ReleaseTEAM .

I totally feel you on what Agile has become, I was at Agile 2023 and the Global Scrum Gathering 2023 and it didn't feel like Agile at all. It was all so focused on following methodologies to the letter (scrumdamentalism it feels like) and getting more and more certifications. Neither of which are actually relevant to doing Agile well.

I still love the simple ideas behind Agile and apply them whenever and wherever I can.

Although we do use Scrum for our software teams we don't stick to it 'religiously', which probably means that according to Scrum Evangelists we're not actually doing Scrum.

However, I also work with business teams, but here we focus more on the Agile way of thinking rather than following a framework, which basically boils down for our business to 'Do small things, work with the client to make sure they see value and give feedback, repeat'

I agree with you @Shawn Doyle - ReleaseTEAM  Everyone is using Agile but with they have there own modified way of using. Even it's varying with project to project as well.

Everyone's focus is on delivery only and I always have doubt that do they care about quality or not?
