Redesigned Planning Interface - How to teach Advanced Roadmaps to leave certain issues alone?

Edited

We are in the process of moving from Advanced Roadmaps Live plans to Advanced Roadmaps redesigned planning interface and are currently running into a blocker finalizing this process.

The "old" Live plans has as a huge advantage that you are able to force issues in certain sprints without the ‘calculate’ option re-planning these issues. To do this, in Jira, we place issues in specific sprints. Liveplans just accepts them in the sprint they are assigned to and plans all the other work around these issues.

In the redesigned planning interface the auto-schedule button doesn’t have the option of forcing/leaving issues in certain sprints. Yes, manually you can drag and drop issues in certain timeframes or sprints, but the auto-schedule button just ignores this when used (and playing around with the auto-schedule options overwriting sprints, releases and teams or just updating empty values for these data fields is not solving this).

Is this a known "removed feature"? Is there a work-around? Or are there plans to bring this back in a future release?
