Jira groups vs Portfolio teams

Hi,

We are now exploring jira portfolio, and I find that I need to have two source of truths of the teams we have... I have to build the portfolio teams (we use the shared teams) and I need to have the same structure inside the Jira groups (in the user management) why? because I want to use the membersOf(...) in JQL so that if a task for some reason was not intercepted by our queries but is assigned to someone from a team, the team sees it....

So I need either to be able to sync a portfolio team from a user group, or to query teams in the JQL... otherwise I need to update both the team and the group every time there is a change in teams....

I this possible in any way? or am I misusing the tool? or is it on the roadmap?
