We are using Jira groups in 2000 user environment server license. With advanced roadmaps we like to have the existing groups used as teams. We would not like the idea to have to add all users in teams AND in groups as the administrative burden would be high.
Any idea how to do that?
Hi @[deleted],
The answer is probably: you don't. Advanced roadmaps targets capacity planning at the team level and adding all your users to those teams has little to no added value for the core functionality of the product.
The advanced roadmaps teams have a name, a way of working (Scrum / Kanban), a velocity or capacity, a connection with a board and (optionally) members.
There is no way to connect groups to teams and there is no way to replace teams with groups as the teams are a crucial concept in connecting scope to resources. But the tool works perfectly fine without linking your team members to the teams.
thanks, we came to the conclusion that we would not use the teams in the tool. At least, we will not add users to the teams as we would create a burden for ourselves to maintain that.
At the moment as new plan is created the suggested teams are based on boards as well without us having to create these teams.
