How to add a jira project to an existing cluster of projects managed in advanced roadmaps?

We have a cluster of jira projects managed with advanced roadmaps. We now would like to add another project to this cluster.

That seems possible, but how can I use the sprints from the cluster for the issues in that additional project.

Any hints how to get this working?

Hi Eddy,

I created a cluster of projects, 2 normal projects with epics, stories and tasks; plus a project with initiatives and super-initiatives. those have a common board, where we have defined a number of sprints. This works nicely.

I now added another project to that first common board. But if I want to assign issues from that new project to one of the sprints in the common board, I cannot do this.

My question is whether that new projects, or at least it issues, could use those earlier defined sprints.

Kind regards,

Stefan

@Stefan De Troch

This sounds like something that might need to be escalated to our customer service. Reach out to them at support.atlassian.com/contact. They're usually pretty quick to respond and also very nice :)

Sorry I can't be more help

Hi @Stefan De Troch,

It sounds like you want to assign issues to a different sprint. To do this, make sure that the Sprint field is showing on your timeline, then select the sprint you'd like to assign it to.

One quick thing, though: if you're trying to use capacity planning, you'll need to use Boards as the issue source (not projects or filters). That done, you should then see the sprints on your timeline when issues are grouped by Team or Sprint, and you can easily reassign the issues to a sprint you desire.

Does this help?

Cheers

Eddie
