Filtered Fields in JIRA Plans Continues to Show those Fields (although they are greyed)

I am currently in the plans feature for a project and I'm trying to see only the items which are in progress which is what I've set my filter to, however, the view still shows Epics with other statuses (they are simply greyed out). Is there a way to hide these completely so that I can get a non-cluttered view?

Maybe a screenshot would help. You should be able to filter based on status and Roadmap Plan would only show the epics with the status. Another way you could do is point the Plan to a jira filter where you are already filtering the status in JQL.
