Who is watching your video?
See who tuned in with view metrics.
Ever wondered who’s watching your videos? Loom makes it easy to see who’s viewed your content with Viewer Insights. The view data on your video will tell you the total number of video views as well as the number of unique viewers who have watched your video. To get more instantaneous insights, you can set up email notifications to be alerted when someone views or comments on your video.
A view is counted if someone watches your video for at least 5 seconds. You can watch your videos as much as you’d like without inflating your metrics because Loom doesn’t count views if you are the original recorder and watch your own video. Viewers are displayed in one of three ways: by name, as anonymous, or by email.
👇 Click the tabs below to learn about the ways views are captured.
If a viewer watches your video while logged into their Loom account, such as someone in your workspace, the view will show their name.
To see who has viewed your Loom:
- From your video, click on the Views tab in the right panel.
- See your total views and unique viewers count displayed on the top, and list of identified and anonymous viewers below.
👉 For example: Marta shares a Loom video update with her team. By checking the viewer list, she can see which team members have watched the video and who might need a follow-up reminder.
👇 This video has 7 total views from 6 unique viewers. Two viewers are anonymous.
All Loom plans have access to Viewer Insights, which shows who has watched your video. Business and Enterprise plans have access to Engagement Insights, which provide more detailed metrics.
View Engagement Insights with Loom’s analytics
By regularly checking your video analytics, you can continuously improve your content and better engage your audience. Remember, the goal is to create videos that are not only informative but also engaging and enjoyable to watch.
Now that you know who’s watching, let’s dig into the details. Engagement Insights show how people engage with your video, not just who viewed it. These metrics can help you understand how your videos are performing. In addition to views, you can see your video’s:
- Completion rate: On average, how much of a video viewers watched
- Call-to-action conversion rate: The percentage of viewers that clicked on your call-to-action button
If you click on an individual name in your Engagement Insights, you'll be able to see additional details about how many times each individual watched the video (Video views), how much they watched (Completion rate), and when they watched it (View Times). If they reacted or commented, you will also see how and where they engaged during the video (Activity).
To access your video’s engagement insights:
- From your video, click on the Views tab in the right panel.
- See your total video views, average completion rate, call-to-action clicks, and list of viewers.
- Click on a viewer name to see the number of video views, completion rate, view times, and activity for that person.
👇 See overall insights as well as individual engagement details by clicking on a name.
👇Click the tabs below to learn how you can use the different metrics.
Views tell you how many times your video has been watched.
Views can be a great way to gauge the overall interest in your content.
👉 For example: Ella, a content creator, shares a Loom video about a new product feature. She notices that the video has a high number of views within the first week, indicating strong interest from her audience. This encourages her to create more content around similar topics.
Engagement Insights are only available to Business and Enterprise plan users.
