Andy Gladstone Community Champion

This past Friday, September 20, we finally found out that "Events" @Fun Man Andy and "Online" @Andy Gladstone were not the same person. We hosted the 2nd edition of #AYSTACA and like Batman and Robin, we complemented each other in entertainment and education. With over (45) participants playing along and even more watching…

On Friday November 22, @Robert Wen_Cprime_ donned his crown and joined me "Online" @Andy Gladstone to co-host the third edition of Are You Smarter Than A Confluence Admin (hereafter referred to as #AYSTACA). Bob brought his dulcet tones and encyclopedic knowledge of Confluence, I brought my ability to bore people with…

Happy Monday Atlassian Community! I'm back with my first Miscellaneous Monday post in quite a while. It's PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) season, and what better way to celebrate than an Atlassian ACE NYC event dedicated to the 10,000+ apps ecosystem. While many of us spend our days in Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Trello and a plethora of Atlassian Applications, there are thousands of add-on apps produced by Marketplace…

It's finally arrived (almost). Atlassian Team '23 will be taking place in the City of Lights this coming week. Las Vegas is an iconic city, portrayed in so many books, movies, TV shows, plays and songs. Yet it is less than 100 years old. There are so many sights and sounds that will conjure up thoughts of Las Vegas. The…

Welcome to August everyone! Before we get too deep into the month, let's talk about a July highlight. While the IOC was…

What carries a higher 💰 price tag in your organization? Is it the tools 🔨🔧🔩⚙? Is it the fools 🤡? 🤔 Or is it both? 🛠 As Grady Booch coined in 1989 "A fool with a tool is still a fool". This phrase's relevance is still 100% accurate today. According to a study completed by Atlassian in 2023, the average organization has…

Wait! It's the day AFTER Team '24 and this post isn't about Team? Really? Who is this guy? Read on. Anyone who knows me or follows my posts in the Community is aware that I am a pretty big Star Wars fan. Seen the original trilogy over 150 times in succession, quotes it like the bible, and is always looking for ways to…

Right now there is a great initiative that @Monique vdB has brought to the Atlassian Community. It's a push to plant 30,000 trees based on the user engagement in the community during the month of July. For every piece of content liked, a tree will be planted, and all users that participate qualify for a special edition…

In the United States we are being treated to a celestial wonder tomorrow. A total solar eclipse will occur across a swath of North America. There has already been a mass-migration of tourists to spots along the path where the umbra will be most present. Hotels in the oddest of locations have been booked for months in…

It's Jobs and Careers Month, and now it's your turn to become the mentor by paying it forward. Can you recall the first time you interacted with any Atlassian Product, Tool or Service? Our team is excited about the possibility of JWM being included in Jira as a way to have native form capability to surface user requests directly into Jira. However, that is probably some time off in the future, and we do need a solution today. How can we accomplish this today with the greatest ease (even if there is some…

When do you start planting your garden in the Spring? If your garden is Confluence, you start whenever you want and never stop. The New York City Atlassian Community hosted a jam packed event last Wednesday night with the theme Kick into Spring with Exclusive Confluence Insights. The night started with @Dileep Bhat setting…

I was recently looking into the origins of the ubiquitous 'Keep Calm and Carry On' posters, t-shirts, GIFs and memes that have been floating around for the past two decades. Of course my research brought me to Wikipedia. Keep Calm and Carry On was a motivational poster produced by the Government of the United Kingdom in…

To borrow a line from Community Leader Extraordinaire @Kristján Geir Mathiesen : That the first (and most famous) Role Playing Game (RPG) released was Dungeons and Dragons? Since its original release in 1971 it has spawned an ecosystem of hundreds of game versions, and started the RPG craze that jumped from board games, to…

I admit, I have been facinated by maps since I was a young child. There has always been something magical and majestic about maps. They could be the key to finding lost treasure, or just the key to not being lost. But even more than showing us where we may be going, they have the ability to show us where we have been. My…

As I was researching the origins of Cyber Monday I came across the image below. I didn't think I could do a better job of expressing the day or it's impact, so today you get mainly an image instead of my normal verbosity. I'm posting at the end of the business day on the East Coast of the US to prompt you with these two…

Black Friday was originally named such by a print publication due to the number of factory workers that were not showing up to work the day after Thanksgiving, effectively 'blacking out' production. In recent times retailers have used the term to refer to the day when they started to turn a profit - going into the 'black'.…

Happy Monday Morning (or afternoon, and even evening wherever you may be in this wonderful orb orbiting the Sun)! And Happy Diwali to all of those that are celebrating! One of the lessons of Diwali that I can always relate to is that it only takes one candle to light hundreds of others. Let's emulate principle in the…

Happy Monday Atlassian Community!
