What happens at Atlassian Summit Las Vegas does not stay in Vegas
The event was action packed and our return to New Zealand was quickly followed by three public holidays over 2 weeks so I'm only now able to catch my breathe and gather my thoughts on the event to share with you. Was it worth it? Yes. Can you elaborate on that? Just like a normal day at work, while at the Atlassian Summit…

First sprint change since upgrading to Jira 8 - amazing!
The Atlassian team were serious when they said there would be performance improvements with the Daily Board. As a Scrum Master and delivery lead I am loving how I can view, filter, and work in the Daily Board so much faster than I could a week ago. If the upgrade to Jira 8 is still on your organisation's to-do list, here…

Post suggestions below for people to 'like' and comment on. User groups are facilitated by leaders but are most valuable when they are driven by ideas and requests from members.

Privacy concerns with public "invite to board" auto-complete feature
I went to invite someone to my Trello board and was concerned to see the field auto-complete by first and last name. Avatars are visible and there is a status indicator showing if the person has logged in recently or if that email address has a Trello account or not. Has anyone else raised this as a concern?

Like the content of Confluence, our knowledge is never complete
When I started using Confluence, I was seen as a Confluence expert because I knew how to use wiki mark-up - there was no WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor back then. Jumping forward to 2019 and I am reminded I still have a lot to learn about Confluence. A WYSIWYG editor - a Confluence contributor's best friend.…

Tis the season ... for things to be different
This time of year is challenging for many people. It may be the change in your routine, extra visitors and visiting, changes in eating and drinking habits, being busy or things being quieter that usual. Consider taking a few minutes to read through and think about resilience. Take care of yourselves.

What working with Atlassian products means to me
I, Kat, moved cities to start working with the TechTime team a little over 8 months ago. I have been a fan of Atlassian products for years so the job advertisement looking for a Project Delivery Coordinator for an Atlassian Solution Partner could have been custom written for me. A new job brings many things to a person's…

Help - carnival themed Atlassian User Group stand
🎪 🤹♂️ In two weeks my local Atlassian User Group will have a stand at #WellyTech - a local event mixing awards, fun, and networking. 🎟 Months ago this seems like a great idea to help boost our group numbers. 😱 So far I have * Atlassian posters for the back drop * A double-sided Atlassian pull-up banner * Decks of planner…

Time to return my gorilla suit...
Gorilla marketing not allowed at Summit 19. I wonder is guerrilla marketing tactics are fair game? :p

Service Desk reset password not showing error if password complexity is not met
Does anyone have any workaround or suggestions to help reduce the pain of Service Desk reset password not showing error if password complexity is not met This issue is a real barrier to providing great customer service and makes it harder to win customers over to using the portal rather than relying on emails.

Agile 'how to' playlist (humour)
I have just discovered a gem of a playlist from 2013. The Rong way to do Agile by Chet Rong is an Atlassian playlist on YouTube. Enjoy!

Eco-friendly uses for swag a.k.a old t-shirts
In New Zealand, there is a push to stop using single-use plastic bags. This trend is surely happening elsewhere as well. Sometimes children grow out of their t-shirts before they look worn or you end up with far too many t-shirts or t-shirts the wrong size for you to wear. (Yay for summit swag). Problem meets solution!…
