Says what all? I’m pretty sure SpaceX customers want to hear “your launch is free” and don’t want to hear that there are weather delays, etc. But that’s the nature of their business. The nature of software is that people will request features that can’t be built, either because of resources or because it doesn’t fit the…

From Atlassian - free I really love the microsites offered by Atlassian; not sure if there's an official list of all these somewhere but I have benefitted from all of these (general interest, not just product-specific): * Git * Project Management * Agile Coach microsite(s) - tons to dig in to here! * Some of the offerings…

As the field configurations in Service Desk vary for every request type, you can simply use the Request Type name as the default value in each request type. Sure, you're manually setting this for each request type you have, but it does get you the configuration you need without having to script.

Hey Ian, I just gave this a try and was able to do it with out-of-the-box Jira Service Desk. * Go to the Request Types page in your project's settings * Click Edit Fields for the request type you'd like to do this on * Click the Hide link in the Actions column for Summary * Pre-fill the value you want to use for that…

That looks right. We've got the same thing going on with a WordPress export right now. While Confluence Server only accepts the XML import, there is a multiformat import plugin for Cloud. In my case we do have access to a Cloud instance so we're using that to import HTML files and then exporting the resulting Confluence…

Thanks for including screenshots! Very useful for seeing what's going on. Can you take a look at the application log file? It's getting so far as starting so at least the init script is pointing at the right place. The application log will hold more information about why it's not staying up. According to your screenshot,…

If you've just Closed a board (the action available when you're in the settings on the board itself), you can recover it. If you've really deleted the board from the Closed Boards list using this button: Then it's really gone! No coming back from permanently deleted. For more detail about deleting or recovering closed…

Hey Jorge, Atlassian used to produce war files for installation on Solaris/pre-existing Java application server environments. However they stopped doing this with Jira 7.0 and the latest Confluence release around that time - this would have been roughly 2.5 years ago. The official recommendation is to use the bin file so…

Can you delete the old installation directories after an upgrade? Yes. Should you delete them? That gets down into your companies policies and your confidence as an administrator. I think it's generally good to keep the immediate previous version around in case a rollback is needed, or if you had customizations that didn't…

Right - for instance the left sidebar navigation is definitely not the same as Cloud. From what I've read so far, there are not plans to majorly change the navigation in Server. But with the giant disclaimer that things are subject to change and this is only the first upcoming release with some of the ADG3 updates.

May 2018 Update Jira 7.10 (currently in Early Access) is the first release to bring changes to Server - color scheme, typography, icons. You can take a look at the screenshots here for a preview. Based on the cadence of previous Jira releases, you can probably expect to see Jira 7.10 available sometime mid-June. Longer…

Interesting! Looks like the secret sauce of the Chrome extension is the CSS: https://github.com/sudonatalie/layout-trello/blob/master/css/layout.css Tampermonkey is available for Edge so you could "build your own" in Edge without having to create a whole Edge extension from scratch. It's not a drop-in replacement but a…

The Service Desk mail handler sets a Request Type: If you've got people entering tickets through the Jira interface instead of email/customer portal, then the request type is empty. It's easy to set up an automation rule to add a default Request Type if it's empty during issue creation. We went even further with the…

Hi Rick, If you're in the Jira interface and looking for tickets that are visible in Jira Service Desk, you can use the following JQL (either by itself or in addition to an existing search): "Customer Request Type" is not EMPTY If you're searching from the Customer Portal, you should only see results that are visible to…

Hi Gregoire, It's going to feel a bit hackey but you can follow these instructions to recover the old description. The data is still on the board, so you are able to recover it from the JSON loaded by your browser. Cheers, Daniel

Sure! Just comma separate them: Cheers, Daniel

I could see change tracking being maybe not-a-lot-of-work for a plugin. The versions are already there, so all the plugin would need to is keep track of what version was last viewed (or provide a "mark as reviewed" button) and then present a "compare with last visited/reviewed version" button that goes to the pre-existing…

The quickest way for you to handle this would be with the Page Tree Creator plugin which can inject variables (the current version you're making the page for) into macro properties. You can do it without a plugin if you build a Blueprint and are comfortable with doing some coding. Check out the details for that here.

Resolved or Closed are the statuses in your workflow. Resolution is a custom field that usually has values like "Completed" or "Fixed" or "Won't Do". Try the JQL above and if you get results from the search, then the Resolution isn't being set.
-
Hi Adrian, In most cases Jira looks at the Resolution field on an issue to see if an issue is resolved, rather than the particular resolved statuses (in your workflow these are canceled, resolved, closed). If the Resolution field on the issue is not being set when the issue transitions to the Resolved status, things might…

Hi Joe, You can use Core with Jira Service Desk, and Core integrates with Confluence. There aren't limitations on what Core vs Software will do with Confluence. Jira Software is needed to make use of Bitbucket integration. The DVCS plugin (used for Bitbucket, Github, etc) is bundled with Jira Software. I believe you can…

We've been very appreciative of the new workflow both at my organization and at the Atlassian User Group that I lead. The increased transparency is very helpful in giving people a true feel for if the feature they're interested in is being worked on. Are there plans for the rest of the product teams to switch over to this…

* May we see you again tomorrow. * Mayday! We are stuck in a Community cycle! * Only visit infrequently? Try complete imMaysion. Since we're in the Mister Rogers / Daniel Tiger phase in my house now, 🎵It's a beautiful day in the MAYborhood, a beautiful day for a Maybor, would you be mine, could you be mine, won't you be my…

Upvote to the proposed changes! Do we know what Lithium considers minor edits? Does it do some sort of calculation, or is there a checkbox for "this is a minor edit" when you're saving changes and we just have the checkbox disabled? I would like to get notifications if someone modifies their question. But, most times…

Hi Mike, The ~ operator tries to use word stemming - things like "test" and "tester" will match a search of "testing" because they all share a common base word. Since Jira doesn't understand your summary as a word, it can't perform a word stem against it. What you'll want to do to match the issue you show is use a fuzzy…

Excited about the tag replacer and tag-auto-insertion :) Sometimes you can answer a question for both Server and Cloud in one go, but always helpful to know first!

Hi Christian, I'm not 100% sure I'm about to answer what you were hoping to ask (I feel like I'm guessing on your intended meaning), but here goes! You can update marketplace add-ons including Team Calendars manually even if your Confluence install doesn't have access to the internet. This won't have any adverse effect on…

Hi William, It varies per product. Here's links to the documentation for installing the license for each of these, and if you're still having trouble we can try addressing each piece individually. If you don't have the licenses you purchased handy, they can be retrieved at http://my.atlassian.com * Jira * Confluence *…

Hi Abdul, I'm not sure about sorting (generally you want lists to keep the order you put the cards in) but there is a power-up to help locate neglected cards. The Card Aging Power-Up makes cards fade out the longer they've been sitting. Cheers, Daniel
