Thanks @Gabriel Tessarini, I'll have a look. That wasn't some of what popped up when I was grepping Google for guidance (and is one of the next iterations that I'll be mucking about with)

Thanks, @Mark Markov. I'll give that a shot. Please ignore some of the other detritus in that script as it is full of debuggish/try this crap. Question - should i push a timestamp or a date into the CF? I can do either; use date for the compares (lazy, i know but works) and timestamp to populate the field.
-
Yup. That was it. I moved last night's snapshots to test instance and that indeed cured it

Seems a recent update of JMWE allows one to spec the system email address as the sender... I've coded around it (and actually turned out to be a better solution) but resolved now.
-
Thanks for sending that along... Since I have a massively diverse user base here, I am thinking of splitting the instances... Much appreciated

I have Jira server running containerized using AWS ECS with underlying EC2 instances on EBS volumes and RDS in the PostgreSQL personality. Runs great.
-
Rather late to this party but when running Jira on AWS with EFS volumes I ran into a latency issue.... which caused me to migrate to EBS. Perhaps with the active-active of datacenter the latency problem goes away... EFS was my preferred choice but ended up being bad juju.

Thanks Alexey... As I noted in my rather large script, now that I grok this better with your help, I ended up using both as there is one case in the script that I want it to put in the history... and another that I don't... for reasons... Thanks for you help and attention to my plight Best, Mike

@Alexey Matveev and @Tansu Akdeniz, thank you both. I had looked at the "setCustomFieldValue()" call and I guess I read it upside down. To get it clear in my (admittedly tiny) mind: * My attempt was, in fact updating the value and writing to the database. However:* the updateValue() updated in the database * the following…

Christoph, It SEEMS like you might have ended up with a syntax error in the setenv.sh script.... Make sure it is exactly -Xms2048m and -Xmx2048m (no spaces or anything like that). I've done that before when I borked those and it basically just didn't know where to go with it. I just checked my environment to make sure I…

Hi, This is a bit of a poser; I haven't actually tried to fix this so it does just automagically download it but one can make the text around it to try to guide the users. I say "try" as I have help text scattered all through my instance and I would estimate that it only gets read 60% of the time. A suggestion might be:…

Hi, @Christoph Becker I think the suggestion that @Igor M_ is headed the right direction. This feels like an OoM issue. While the system you are running this on has 7GB RAM, that does NOT mean that you've allocated it to Java. The default values in the setenv.sh script are pretty small. Given that you have both on the…

Thanks Ann, I had gone to the Confluence Release Notes page and can see 6.9.1 listed there but when one clicks on the 6.9.1 link, that is where I got the dead page link. With it also not showing on the bottom of the 6.9.0 page (which is always a nice roll-up of all the M.m.p releases) it gave me pause. I am gratified to…
-
Thanks @David Fischer As mentioned I found a work around but I am also going down another direction by putting an html tag in there with the response I am after (actually solves a few problems by doing that) What I am doing is having users NOT in JIRA be able to transition an issue via email (keywords with Automation…

Thanks @Payne. I did look at that and keeping it in my back pocket if I can't work out the rabbit hole I am down right now.

Hi @Sophie Mulard, I have several use cases in my instance that are just like this one. I have long used the "Notification Assistant for Jira" in my instances https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211069/notification-assistant-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview Basically anything that can be represented by a JQL search…

Hi... Yes; if you rename the issue type, since the label is only a pointer to a numeric value representing the issue type, every project in the instance that uses that issue type will have the new label. If you want new issue types for JUST Project-1, you'd need to create the new issue types and add them to the project by…

Hi... I started to reply but added my thoughts as more of an answer mike

Hi @Robert Jorgenson, I ran into a variety of issues when we migrated from an in-house Exchange server to G-Suite. While what you're running into may be a PITA, it's probably a Good Thing from a security standpoint. You may need to speak to your G-Suite admins about adding your host if it hasn't been already. I grepped…

I solved it myself.... it's a BIT of a hack but I created a service account in Jira with the correct name and email address but doesn't have log in privileges. Allows it to be used as the reply to but doesn't take up a license.

Way to go @Sravya Vuggina!!! One thing I've also fallen into the habit of is slavishly documenting my steps I take to get something to work. I can't tell you how many times that: * During a build out, the "next" step I take causes Something Bad to happen. With detailed documentation I can easily get back to where I was…

Nope... no soap. Was a good thought but... <sigh> The brush I am trying to add is this one https://github.com/syntaxhighlighter/brush-swift/blob/master/brush.js Do I need to alter that (other than the capitalization?)
-
And the answer was, verbatim, "Hell no. That is highway robbery"
-
Thanks Alexey. That answers it perfectly so now all I have to do is get the requester from my user base to decide whether they want to spend the $
-
I did NOT try that... I'll give that a shot...

Hi Shannon, Yup... that was the only way I found as well. I just didn't "like" it as it is that bit of a kludge that one has to switch out of visual mode to use it. The specific ask was "Elixir" highlighting which isn't in there. There were a ton of helpful ones added when I got to 7.8.2 but not the "special" ones my user…

Hi Wolfgang, The last I looked at it, one of the issues I've run into is that the same username but found in a different directory can appear to be a whole new user. There is an excellent discussion on this very topic…

Hi there Christina, I suspect you can't see the Due Date field in issues where one is not set. As long as it's populated, it should show the value when viewing the issue detail. It IS a bit of a pain to have to edit the field to get a value in there to make it display (at which time you can change it directly from the…

@Jeannine Gentleman, yes... you definitely want to update your database. PostgreSQL 8 is pretty old. Since you've gotten to Jira 7.9.2, you'll probably want to go all the way to 9.6.x so you won't have to go through this for a while. The unsupported collation is also a bit of a Big Deal; for the most part (from what I…

@drewhubley, mine is actually containerized and running in ECS. A graceful shutdown (setting desired tasks to 0) stops them cleanly. I did the cache blast for the times when Something Bad happens and they just... go away. Jira and Confluence would normally take ~5 mins before. Now always takes ~15 mins BUT it always comes…
