The comments and thoughts about this article shared here and many other places are both an honor and humbling. As I alluded to in the article, I am indeed "OK" as, I think, are all of us but we do find the general suckage of the situation to be rather large. Reflecting on the responses I've gotten with the article and…

Thanks @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- . I am glad my tiny maunderings are helpful to you and that you find them good enough to share with other humans. Between this posting and the same article on LinkedIn, I think that this is rather more endemic than first thought.

Thank you @nina_schmidt . I am no longer just "pretty sure" but "certain" that many feel like this based on comments both here and on LinkedIn as well as many DMs from a broad cross-section of readers. As I have mentioned to others, I am always happy to talk about something, talk about nothing, or have a brilliant exchange…

@Esther Strom I am glad I could help in some tiny way. I am only a hair's breadth different; I am a gregarious introvert if that makes any sense at all. Whilst at the office, I didn't tend to have to go "looking" for a conversation; they either pointedly stopped by on their way past or, like you, they happened organically.…

Update 10/29/20: Legal have just given a provisional "approval" needing only InfoSec blessing now that, should I find a way to do it, I could move cloudy. More on this festival as it progresses.

Hi @Steffen Kappes , You are 2/3 right with it having something to do with roles and/or groups. To go the extra bit, you would be, then, setting up a permission scheme to provide that further security. A good discussion can be found here. BUT, rather than just throw you to the wolves, as it were, here are some thoughts…

Thanks @Jimmy Seddon . I am glad the maundering of my tiny brain was meaningful to you. Now that I have made the proverbial toe dip to the mythical water, I may well be back with more at some point.
-
Thank you @Kat Warner . I am glad to hear that I am not, in fact, the only one feeling this way.

@Julius Zatroch that determination is precisely where I am right now. As much as the lazy human in me would like it if I could go cloud (both privacy and technically), I may well yet end up building out a shiny new AWS DC environment in place of my existing AWS server environment. If it ends up being the DC route, since my…

To both @Thomas Dörfler and @Dalectric , I too am in the state where I am determining first whether I can go off-prem with my data (figuratively; I already host my on-prem server on AWS). That was the legal question I have in front of our attorneys at the moment. Only after THAT do I start to do the deeper technical dive…

I saw this question posted and (somewhat) purposefully sat it out a bit to see the prevailing view to this. The other reason was to think about how to answer the question as this is, most definitely, bigger than a breadbox. This is likely going to be a rather long post (long enough that I wrote it in Google Docs to guard…

@elizabeth_jones , you make a very good point with liking all coffee. I do find that coffee is not dissimilar to pizza... even when it's bad, it's pretty dang good. Also, Sunday is the day I make a couple of pots of coffee that will reside in the fridge in a pitcher along with a few trays of coffee ice cubes to keep the…
-
@Chris Buzon , for your remembering to untick the mailbomb everyone button in Confluence, I added No Email Storm which basically makes it the default to do things quietly. That one got some cheers in my shop.
-
@Tim , the paid Slack Connector for Jira will do this very thing but yes, it is a 3rd party app. I keep looking at the Atlassian one for more function and have yet to be able to obviate the need for 3rd party to meet this objective.

I am indeed fortunate to have had travels like that. I hearken back to my earlier statement; I find it impossible to have a "favorite". The different places and the people in them are all unique and wonderful. A handful of rather interesting things that come to mind: * Hearing some of the best live 70s rock and roll in a…

I am fortunate, where in a past life, I found myself on an airplane about every 2 weeks and if I traveled in the USA (I am in California), it was unusual. The Boss and I also travel extensively for pleasure (or at least did before the zombie apocalypse). As a result I have been on every continent on the planet except…

I have to say that Malta is one of my favorite places... I thoroughly enjoyed it when I was there. Gorgeous

Hi @Erol Littwins , If you are licensed already, you (or someone in your org) should be able to get the keys from https://my.atlassian.com. If it isn't yet and you are just getting rolling, you can, at least, request 30 day license from the same place. From the admin screen, go to "Applications" to apply the license.

My morning usually starts with a liter of Death Wish Coffee Valhalla blend. First cup to get through that initial grim period between waking and coffee is Keurig from a plumbed in Keurig (I don't want to be faced with having to move water manually first thing in the morning) programmed to be on and ready when I wake. After…

Oh... well, if you want to increase it, it is something the Jira admin needs to do. This page describes where these all are. I highly recommend setting a restricted group that can export way more issues so that you don't get too many doing it at once and DOS your system... Hope this gets you the rest of the way.

I am unsure if there is. The Jira macro in Confluence gives you the content that is current at the time you display the page so it is automatic in that regard. For example, if I ask for tickets in X state updated last week, I always get the set of tickets that meet that criteria without having to do manual work at all.…
-
Hi @Joao Borges , Well... you just asked a simple question that has a multitude of answers. I do the same thing where Jira is where the process operates and Confluence is where it is documented and reported on. First bit is pulling tickets from specific columns; that one is actually kind of easy given that a ticket in a…

That is one thing I am waiting for on this one. However, I did do a JQL that mimicked that until the Real Thing arrives and it is suiting us fine for the nonce. All that said, @Boris Berenberg - Atlas Authority and company are quick, responsive, and know where this thing needs to go.
-
Hi @Marek Dziedzic , You just named the reason that I don't have email submission to JSD enabled. When it was, we got way to many "My computer is slow" tickets with utterly no information other than that. Thanks. I'll get right on that. So... I weaned them off email submissions, spent a LOT of time making the portal look…
-
Hi @justin romeo The tool you might like is one I use and swear by; Notification Assistant for Jira. Not only can you use whatever filter or other JQL, you have the option of having the list sent out to be "personalized". For example, if you sent it to the assignee, then each assignee gets only their list of of issues. If…

Hi @hmora I just had a roll through release and upgrade notes and I suspect, since the 8.12 release is so new that there is an app or something that hasn't been flagged as compatible with 8.12 I wouldn't say you couldn't upgrade but I have typically given a release a week or so to marinate before I attempt one. If this is…
-
HI @JConstantine From that I would surmise that it is the Jira version that is being asked for. While Jira is bundled with a Tomcat server, if one is adventurous, you can run whatever version you want so that isn't probably what is being asked for. Also, I think it is in context of Jira Server edition.

Also very good from that very same place on the Balboa Fun Zone are the frozen chocolate covered bananas. Kind of pointless because there are simpler viable options to get there, but it is worth taking the Balboa Ferry to Balboa Island.
-
@Monique vdB , you are making the rather bold assumption that chocolate chips do not go best with pretty much anything you put them next to in the postprandial grazing period.
-
The short answer is... no... I will often visit some of the smaller roasters in the area here to get beans or pick some up somewhere on my travels (when we could still do that). The worst part is that Starbucks ruined a lot of roasting because a) they burn the beans and b) have convinced everyone coffee is supposed to…
