Thanks for the reply, Brian! but now we have a macro window opening where we have to set the language parameter for the code macro if we are not using the default setting It's not the ideal UX but you can still achieve this without opening the Macro Browser, or using your mouse. I'm curious to learn what actions you are trying to perform in the new editor that making you pick up your mouse? Like you, I prefer to do everything with the keyboard so I'd love to know what areas we can improve on with the new edior to eliminate the need to pick up your mouse.

Still don't understand why we completely lost Wiki Markup mode in the editor @Brian - Up to now, Confluence has stored its content in the database as wiki markup. In Confluence 4.0, the content is stored as XHTML. Since we no longer store content in wiki markup it's not possible to allow you to edit content in wiki markup.

You might want to try the Wiki Markup Styler plugin.
-
You should be able to navigate to Confluence Admin | Configuration | Import Templates See this video for further details: http://screencast.com/t/qak5pXsr That was recorded on Confluence 3.5 so I imagine there is a bug in the version of Confluence you are running? Are you able to see the 'Default Templates' that are…

Click on the Insert Image button in the toolbar of the editor.

Could you please post a screenshot?

UPDATE: Confluence 4.0 (RC2) is now running on http://confluence.atlassian.com

Barbara, Atlassian does not pre-announce release dates. The best timeframe I can give you is sometime in the next 4 - 6 weeks. You are able to dowload the first public beta of Confluence 4.0 to install on your own machine. Note that this release also brings new guided installers for Windows and Linux so installation is not…

We plan to have Confluence 4 available for hosted customers to request upgrades within a week of the final release. RE: plugins – I'd recommend contacting the plugin developer and asking directly their plans for support for Confluence 4.0.
-
If you are running Confluence 4.1 you can find the Issue using JQL in JIRA and copy and paste the permalink to the search into the Confluence editor. See: http://screencast.com/t/AJAM72iiTBow

Not sure how that's more efficient than allowing the user to choose if they want to recieve the newsletter and having their own option to unsubscribe at anytime?
-
Hi Wilm! A newsletter like the "Confluence daily summary email" would be great You should suggest to your users that they sign-up for the JIRA and Confluence Insiders newletters to recieve product-specific tips, tricks, and product updates. * JIRA Insiders * Confluence Insiders You can see the contents of the first volume…

If you upgrade to Confluence 3.5 first (recommended) you'll be able to try the new guided upgrade process in the new Windows and Linux installers for Confluence 4.0.

Since you are running Confluence on your own servers there's no real dependency between JIRA projects and Confluence Spaces. You can link a JIRA Project/s to a Confluence Space. The docs for this can be found here: http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/hADvDQ (requires. Confluence 3.5+ and JIRA 4.3+
-
Sean, are you using Atlassian OnDemand or do you have Confluenvce and JIRA installed on your own servers? When running Confluence and JIRA on Atlassian OnDemand a Confluence Space is created for every JIRA Project, if you wish you can unassociate the JIRA Project with the COnfluence Space and remove the Confluence Space.…
-
If you are running the latest versioons of JIRA (4.3.x) and Confluence (3.5.x) you can connect the two via Application Links. See this video for the funtionbality provided in COnfluence when connected to JIRA with application links.

First thing that springs to mind is page comments :) This is how we at Atlassian colloborate around pages.
-
Sounds like you are using the Confluence Metadata Plugin 2 which has not yet been upgraded for Confluence 4.0. Please contact the plugin author to request an update for this plugin.
-
You can enable user access logging in Confluence. See: http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/n8oC By shared documents, are you referring to documents attached to Confluence pages?

We don't currently have plans to implement reminders, but we do have plans to implement notifications with the release of Team Calendars 1.1 next week. See: https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/browse/TEAMCAL-72 I'd suggest raising a 'New Feature' request on our public issue tracker so we can track demand for this feature:…

We (Atlassian) just announced a beta of a brand new add-on – Confluence Questions. You can learn more in our announcement blog post and sign-up for the beta here.
-
Hi Mark - It's not currently possible to do this. It would however be an excellent feature request – i.e. more granualr notificaqtion options for autowatch. Imagine checkboxes for the following actions for which Aitowatch should be enabled. * Pages* Create * Edit * Comment * Blogs* Create * Edit * Comment I'd recommend…

Liam, could you not achieve this by customizing the PDF Stylesheet with CSS? I don;t know enough about CSS to know if it is possible but thought it might be an option.

I've updated the Software Development and Human Resources template bundles plugins so it's listed as compatible with Confluence 4.1. Thanks for the heads up. BTW I would love to know what templates we could improve/add to make these plugins a better solution for our customers. If you have any thoughts please let me know!

You need to click on the blue arrow to make it 2nd on the list – i.e. not your primary user directory. You should then see a link to disable it.
-
Try inserting the markup for the macro using the Wiki Markup Dialog via the Insert menu. It may still work despite not yet being updated to support 4.0 – i9.e. not recogized by the Macro Browser and Macro Autocomplete.

Mandy, with the release of Confluence 4.1 - already available to OnDemand customers - you can now just paste an issue's link (URL) into the Confluence editor and Autoconvert will handle the rest by automagically inserting the JIRA issue macro for you. Watch the Autoconvert video on the bottom half of this page for a quick…
