No breaks for the Champs eh!

Oooh! Nice.

Can you post a screenshot of your html or maybe put in a simplified version of what you are putting in the HTML macro? I put styles int the HTML macro all the time, so it should work.

You need to have a login to be able to comment on a page. However you could build an RSS feed for anonymous users to put into a feed reader to see page changes. The url is below. By default it will create a feed that requires authentication. You can change that by removing the "&os_authType=basic" at the end of the url.…

That's totally correct. You can have two pages with the same name in different spaces. The unique page name rule is only limited to pages within the same space.

The search for Jira and Confluence only search their respective applications. However you can view Jira issues in Confluence using the Jira macro.

I would do two steps. I would export the xml and import into a new server with the same version. Once you have done that then upgrade the new server. Trying to do too many things in one step could be problematic.

Is your server base url set up correctly in Confluence? In Confluence Admin -> General Configuration is it set to http://192.168.1.3:8090?
-
What kind of file is it? Confluence can only preview certain types of files natively.

Do you already have a centralized user directory for computer logins such as LDAP or Active Directory? If you do I would recommend setting up access for both to be delegated though your LDAP/AD provider ... especially if you have any plans for giong larger than 10 users. If not, then for such a small user base I think it…

This is a query I wrote up a while ago to get the file paths of attachments. I edited it to just pull back the deleted files. The first column would be the file paths for all your deleted files. You could probably use that to get the disk space for all your deleted attachments. Below are the MSSQL and MySQL versions. If…

You can create a user macro to do this. @Stephen Deutsch has created a user macro for this. Here is his code. I wouldn't make the timeout 0 though ... it makes it hard to edit the page if you need to. : ) https://bitbucket.org/stephendeutsch/confluence-user-macros/src/ Macro Name: redirect_macro Macro Title: Redirect Macro…

View restrictions being inherited makes sense because how would you even see a child page in the nav tree if you cannot see the parent. As for edit restriction being inherited it doesn't make sense for them to assume you want it to be inherited. I have many pages that have a restriction on a parent page, but I would not…

I have to say @Scott Selberg that you're Marketplace plugins rock! I've used them in our environment. I like that you have one for multi-excerpts and one for tabs as well. I use those all the time.

@Kimberly Deal _Columbus ACE_You can fake it by by putting JavaScript in the field description to make the change. It's in the field configuration ... and then click edit next to the field to see the description box. Or if you have ScriptRunner you can do it as well with a field Behaviour. But yes, it would be better if it…

Nice thoughts! With regards to the end of your point #2 I hold out hope that someday JRASERVER-6851 will be implemented. Currently, it is not possible to have multiple custom field contexts within the same project for different issue types. This would seriously cut down on some of our custom field bloat.

I totally look like that guy now ... and also super tough. ; )

I tried multiple times and kept getting this dude. Apparently my head looks like the head of a man. Phew!

I'm not addicted ... I can quit any time I want to ... really. : ) I just don't want to. I started out with the original Atlassian Answers site just trying to find answers to my questions. Then one day I realized I could answer a few questions. Eventually, I decided to start watching certain topics around Confluence and…

It is super catchy. I've many-a-time had to stop myself from humming it ... get's stuck in the head.

Done with tech support. "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack now. :)

Alas, I wish I were listening to something fun ... instead I'm listing to tech support. :(

Congrats everyone mentioned above. Y'all rock!

I'm not sure if this applies to JQL as well, but I know when it comes to something like SQL if you try and limit as much data as possible first you will get better performance. So, you could try moving the resolved filter closer to the beginning of you JQL query.

I don't know of any add-ons that provide that specific functionality. However, if you have developers you could achieve something like that using the REST api.

Confluence is a great platform for this. However, the tool alone will not make you documentation great. We have teams in our organization that do a great job with the content and they like confluence. We also have other teams that have not been organized and methodical in the approach and they are the ones that complain…

Other things to consider would be that you are only as secure as your user's security competency. In any organization these days your security folks should be educating users on how to spot phishing and social engineering attacks. Also, don't let your users off with weak passwords. Make them make it strong and don't bow to…

I like the new table editor, but that's about it. While it doesn't add anything new I like the way it is layed out. However, I am not thrilled about the centered fixed-width experience. It just looks wonky to me. I also do not like that there are no justification buttons and that page sections have been removed. These are…

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the new cloud editing experience. I like the new table editor, but the fixed width centered view is not terribly attractive in my opinion. I'm also bummed to not see justification or page sections. However, it looks like this is just applied to the default meeting notes template. You could…

There are a number of add-ons in the marketplace that can do this. Links are below. You could edit the page layout decorator under Confluence Admin -> Layouts to add in the macros to have it show on each page automatically. I have used ConfiForms extensively and I know it can do this, but I'm sure the other plugins could…
