When this answer was ported from the old Atlassian Answers site the code code HTML encoded. Thus things like < > and & ended up getting changed to < > and &. So, you would just need to do a find a replace to fix it. However, since you are on 6.8.2 you should have access to a new-ish report that they put in Confluence…

That add-on is only available for the self hosted Jira offerings. It does not work with the Jira Cloud offering.

Maybe it's good I don't have a view like that. I might not get work done.

Nice view!

Wow! Great view.

Yeah, Seattle is about 2 hours north of me ... pretty much the same weather pattern.

@Andreas Nasikas I moderated the post to remove your email address. It is generally not a very good idea to post your email address in a public forum like this.

@Mirek Goodness-sakes that's creepy! : )

@Thomas Schlegel Alas, I can't even see if it's raining ... frosted over. However, I can certainly hear when its raining. It's a metal roof ... sounds like a stampede. Also, I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US and during the fall/winter/spring time its ALWAYS raining. Seriously, we don't see the sun for months at a…

Lunch .... get's in the way of me getting things done.

I'm a huge Trekkie. I think I got into Star Trek because of my dad. He is a big Sci-Fi fan as well and it was something that we could share in common. Now that I have my own son it's something that we share as well. Recently, we've been going through Voyager together and it is just another way for him and me to connect.…

I've been in the diaper and sleepless nights business for about 11 years now. So, I think mine would be ... Memoirs of a truly-God-blessed-technophile-trekkie-zombie-family-man That about sums me up. : )

@[deleted] I hear ya. I've found that parenting is so much about "I'm Completely Making This Up As I Go." I truly feel for my first born ... we're pretty much just experimenting on him. Well intentioned and thought through certainly, but still untested. By the time it all filters down to the youngest we've pretty much got…

Window? Hmm, don't have one of those. I do have a frosted over skylight.

Truly. I love that the Community, as opposed the previous Answers site, allows for articles to be written. I've learned some pretty cool stuff from others as well.

The only time I have seen things like that is when a document has been created by being imported from a Word document. There is often weird stuff brought into it behind the scenes that rears its ugly head when you backspace or try to clear blank lines. If you are experiencing issues like that my hunch would be that it was…

You can remove page layouts. You should see a button in the toolbar that looks like this ... Within a layout section click it and you will get a menu below the main toolbar that looks like this ... Position your cursor within one of the sections and hit the delete button. To delete that section. However, before you do that…

Our phone guys set up a voicemail box for "Bob in IT". If you call it you get a message like ... "This is Bob in IT. Sorry I missed your call. Please leave me a detailed message with your name, number ... yada, yady, yada, blah, blah, blah." Nobody checks it and it's just a trash bin. So whenever I get a telemarketer…

I think the two biggest takeaways that I am looking forward to are the new Confluence search, and the ability to edit more than just Microsoft Office attachment types in Confluence. I previewed the new search with the Chrome extension that was released and it was super nice. It was fast and I think it will help users find…

Aww!! Such a lovely group of people. Can't wait for Vegas.

Alt + 0231 gets you "ç". : )

My weirdest travel experience I think was when I was in Travnik, Bosnia. I was teaching English for the summer and while I was there I went to a camera shop to get some more film. So, there I was pointing at a shelf saying "chetiri sto" (400) over and over ... I wanted ASA 400 film ... and the guy behind the counter was…

@Scott Theus such an inconceivably great approach to learning a new tool! Tool ... tool ... if you didn't learn it you'd be a ... *fool*. Oh, and also you killed my father, prepare to ... oh wait, that wasn't you, sorry.

I believe that when a user signs up themselves they are put into the "confluence-users" group. So, you would just need to set the perms for that group to be limited to viewing and commenting and then create groups that grant greater access for others.

Glad it helped.

If you don't use a Jira, LDAP, or AD directory then yes you would have to manage the users and permissions separately. That's the only drawback that I can think of.
