Our apologies for the hiccup… * Which OS are you on? * Which version of Sourcetree are you using? * Are you in a corporate environment (and/or managed machine)? Thanks!

Hi Andrew, Sourcetree is a local only Git client in many respects which is why a developer could make and push changes outside of cloud specific checks. It's up to the server (Bitbucket Cloud) to reject the push for whatever reason. That said, it's an excellent request for us to do that check (which we can) and one we'll…

Hi Frank, Sourcetree's visible SSH integration works like so: * check for a Sourcetree generated key * check for a public key Currently we don't parse out the configuration file to do further mapping in the UI. Under the covers Git/Mercurial will use the SSH configuration you've specified, we're not overriding anything……

Hi Anders, They are currently distinct actions intentionally - you may want to pull the repo but not all the LFS content. Merging them into a single one via option is a good request, please file it at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE and we'll take it from there. Cheers, Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer,…

Hi Jonathan, Sourcetree is a source control client for Git; it can open a terminal and allow you to run other commands. Robo 3T (Robomongo?) appears to be a dedicated GUI for MongoDB, that can open a terminal for you to run commands (like Git) as well; my guess is that they include more functionality for that particular…

What version of Sourcetree are you using? What OS?

It's great to see how far Community has come and to imagine how far it will go! 👏

We've identified the fix and will roll out a new build later today. Our apologies for the hiccup.

@Ryan Sherman There's not a side channel discussion happening, he'll reply here or ask for a ticket to gather more information.

Please don't create additional questions to elicit a more immediate response; it makes things more difficult for us as a small team trying to support our users. If you are having difficulties with 2.7.2 and it's mission critical right now then I recommend using an older release from the Download Archives and monitoring the…

(edited with a clarification) 2.7.2 is only available to 5% of users currently and in beta; we aren't proceeding further with the release until this is sorted out.

We've added a Debug menu (turn on in the Advanced preferences) that also includes authentication logging which should help shed some light on the problem. @Manju will work with you further to isolate the problem. We appreciate your patience and report. Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

It sounds similar to this: "Looks like the problem was that Bitbucket [Cloud] was not configured to use an SSH key, and the console failed once it prompted and didn't return a username or password." https://github.com/akonwi/git-plus/issues/74

To clear up what happened: we're explicitly enforcing the rules outlined in https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-check-ref-format.html Cheers, Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

There's not a way to resolve this within Sourcetree's UI but it seems like this thread has some helpful suggestions for a CLI solution: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37937984/git-refusing-to-merge-unrelated-histories-on-rebase. HTH. Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

We've had another note about this (don't have the ticket number handy) and will address in a future update. Thanks for your patience and report. Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

Unfortunately the "no staging" view is optimized for working with entire files as you've found out. Once you stage a portion of a file then it needs to be displayed much differently. The current solution is to switch to a staging mode and re-use the existing functionality. Even while writing this I can imagine several…

I think it accidentally got caught up in the spam sweep last week. Please refile and we'll take a fresh look. Sorry about that!

Sourcetree no longer uses a license file, you register with an Atlassian account when configuring on launch. Where/when were you prompted for a license? Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

We've renamed "Blame" to be a more user friendly "Annotate". Nobody is necessarily at fault, you're just figuring out who authored a particular line 😄 You're looking for "Annotate Selected…" in that menu, below "Log Selected…". HTH. Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

Good catch, fixed.

Hi Dimas, Sourcetree does not currently support reading this setting from a Git config or have its own mechanism for changing the way tags are sorted currently. Please vote and/or comment on this ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-2845 Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree

Hi Chris, There are a few things you've mentioned that need to be separated out… * Git - equivalent to SVN in some ways, is a version control system (VCS) * Sourcetree - equivalent to TortoiseSVN in some ways, is a VCS client * GitHub - a service that you typically "host" a repository on Git is fundamentally different in…

Hi Rezart, I'd recommend checking the Help menu, we've got a couple resources that will hopefully start you on a path to success. The first is "Getting Git Right", an Atlassian guide about Git in general. The second is "Get Started with Sourcetree" which is dedicated to app basics. Cheers, Brian Ganninger Senior Mac…

Hi everybody, I'd like to start by saying we hear your feedback and understand your frustration. We know how serious this is and apologize for the pain caused by these bugs. We're a small but dedicated team in Atlassian doing our best to balance everyone's needs. When something like this happens we are keenly aware of how…

We're working on improvements for badge update reliability in 2.7.2 (our current beta) and 2.7.3 (starting development soon.) Thank you for your patience. Brian Ganninger Senior Mac Developer, Sourcetree
