Looks like an operator precedence issue. You'll need to put the OR clauses into braces: project = x AND status not in (a, b, c) AND assignee in (a, b, c) AND assignee is EMPTY AND ( field1 = X OR field2 = X OR field3 = X ) (I've added newlines here for readability)

Adding to Nic's answer - the project key can include alpha-numeric characters. You can create project keys like MARS1, and MARS2 which would produce issue sequences * MARS1* MARS1-1 * MARS1-2 * ... * MARS2* MARS2-1 * MARS2-2 * ... Generally shorter project keys are better IMHO, but this is an option.

I have not used any of these myself; but I *think* this discussion is applicable - whether you're using JSM or just Confluence: What are people searching for in Confluence?

The Sandbox feature is only available for Premium and Enterprise subscriptions tiers - which we are not using. Disappointing that Atlassian don't offer this free to all customers trying to migrate to Cloud. If available to you; mange sandboxes via Cloud Admin > Products > Sandbox. Instead of using sandboxes, our migration…

@vthomas9 Good to hear you're testing :-) No we have not migrated to Cloud yet. Based on our tests I do not expect weekend support from Atlassian would be required, but YMMV. We have been waiting for Atlassian fixes to ensure our data is migrated correctly. We also want a custom domain, and given this is coming soon we…

From a 'big picture' perspective, your checklist seems ok. But you don't mention if you have: * Checked what is migrated - and what is NOT - notably:* Some workflow features are not migrated * Project avatars * Issue type icons * Global Permissions * Some App Data * Filter subscriptions * Dashboards * ... * Done a test…

Our journey started with Jira Server in 2013 - now approaching our 10 year anniversary. Over that time I've logged quite a few tickets - like others feel a little jaded by the process. The Question The big question on my mind ... is how everyone handles issues reported to Atlassian and the challenges of getting them fixed…
-
I can confirm - having done this myself. You should: * (Before you migrate) Remove filters saved by past employees. * (If you intend to leave your old Jira Server running after migration) Turn off the filter subscriptions on Jira Server. * Document the re-creation of filter subscriptions in your migration run plan. NOTE:…

An update for an old question. We continue to see this issue, so I don't think it has been resolved since Jun 2022. I don't think there is any way to get Confluence (or Jira) Cloud to show your image at 100% so you get a nice clear picture. In some cases an image size might match one of the size options - but that would be…

Subsequently found two JAC tickets that seem related. Although it doesn't look like there are any suggestions directly relating to enhancing automation. I'll send a request. JRACLOUD-42307 Automatically Edit 1000 Issues Continuously if Issues to be Edited is more than 1000 JRACLOUD-68133 Cannot use JQL In Escalation…

Hi @Bill Sheboy - thanks for your suggestion of using {{now}} in a JQL query to limit the number of issues. That would help in our situation.
-
@Bill Sheboy- initially my automation rule frequency was hourly - meaning the issues would update in a few hours (6-7 hours). I increased the interval to 2 hours given how long the first run took. Rather slow, but it did update the issues with less tedium. Regardless of the frequency/interval the automation rule still gets…

@[deleted]- the issues are multiple projects - some have a few hundred issues to update and others have thousands. I'm using a JQL filter in the automation rule so it: * Only selects issues matching specific custom-field text. Before any issues are modified this query indicates about 5600 issues. * Sorts the matching…

For all the Atlassian people out there(?) the discussion here and in other tickets suggests your users do want to search within a specific issue to find comments. This is something I have done many times. Admins for Jira Server have been able to provide this for their users by disabling the comment collapse feature. Then…

In 2023 the problem remains unresolved. The ticket below seems the only relevant ticket in the backlog - voting may encourage some action: JRACLOUD-74347 Images from attachment displayed too small and centers with large margin in "new issue view"
-
@Ahmud Auleear As noted above - thanks for fixing part of the issue; yes you can now insert an image (or other existing attachment) into a comment or description. But after inserting an image you cannot format it. In short - this behaves differently to a normal image. There is another JAC ticket JRACLOUD-80640 that relates…

Good to see some action on this old request. Regarding the mandatory two-levels of subdomain. Please feel free to share any feedback; we are specifically interested in your thoughts on Screen 3, where you will see the mandatory two levels of subdomain names. This seems unnecessary to me. I think a single field to enter the…

Although I voted for the issue and wanted a solution, I have not been following this issue closely. Our Cloud migration is stalled by other blocking issues. Sorry for the late comment on this post. After trying the new 'feature' today on our Cloud instance I was immediately disappointed - as noted by @Andrew Maltsev and…

As far as I know, in general at the time of writing (subject to change): * Dashboards - by default dashboards are NOT migrated. But dark features are available to do this - contact Atlassian support. * Shared Filters are not migrated by default either - again dark features are available to do this - contact Atlassian…

Hi Mohamed, Good question. I have not implemented this in JSM yet - but I think you might be able to implement this using automation rules or using ScriptRunner. We would also want to cover scenarios like this. Best regards, Dwight

As a customer waiting for Atlassian to resolve issues that block our migration to Cloud, these kinds of posts are frustrating. At the time of this comment (over a month after Ahmud's post): * 75 of the 241 sub-tasks (30%) in JRACLOUD-70555 are not yet closed. From a customer perspective it does not seem finished. * ALL of…

Thanks for the answer. In a DevOps environment this sounds workable, but some of our release cycles are much longer. For that scenario the Dev tickets are closed long before the software release happens. I was hoping there might be a way to link this changes to the project version is released. This would suit our workflow.…

Depending on your situation (and the actual relationship between the two issues), the approach described in the link below might be applicable: How to prevent issues from being closed while the sub-tasks are still open in Jira This prevents an issue being closed when sub-tasks are still open, and would not require a 3rd…

Jira Cloud customers are not buying a perpetual software license, they pay an ongoing subscription that includes: * Right to use the Software (SaaS). * Storage of data. * Provision of support. When your subscription ends Atlassian will not (and should not) keep your data indefinitely. This post is a couple of years old,…

Hi @Brielle Johnston thanks for the reply. From the perspective of a customer trying to migrate the pre vs post migration perspective is not really a thing. Though we have not yet migrated, I can offer a perspective on the journey & resources Atlassian have provided. * The pre-migration resources did not contribute much…

Shouldn't Atlassian survey the organizations that have not yet migrated? This would give a better understanding of: * Why they haven't started yet. * What is blocking their migration. * What aspects of the process are time-consuming or difficult. Despite being over two years on from Atlassian's EOL announcement for Server,…

Our experience has been worse than average - we've completed over 20 test migrations. Still troubleshooting and waiting for blocking app migration issues to be resolved. There still seems to be debate about whether to use a test environment vs production... with free trials added to the mix. Cloud migration trials for…

Atlassian don't have any specific (easy or fast) method to wipe a cloud instance for a re-run. Since this seemed like a basic migration tool/function, I logged a support case asking this specific question back in February, which has become our primary MOVE discussion. The conclusion of that discussion, and our current…

Your comment about performance in NZ is interesting to me too, since our teams are spread globally. I would have thought that as an Australian homed company, Atlassian's performance in it's own part of the globe would be stellar. Good question @John Dunkelberg - to elaborate my note about performance from NZ... After using…
