They would rather defer all changes until it works best for them. It's the same complaints we get when a new windows version is deployed to end users. What do you do to prep your user base for these types of changes?

@Todd Skelton as @Mathew Lederman pointed out this new UI was prioritized over countless other bugs in the system and this change in UI seems to be happening every few years. The Development and Project Management teams have gone to our C-Suite with so many complaints that they are considering moving to a more stable…

The main purpose of the project is to generate action items for the AWS Environments the company is operating. I manage all of the cloud products/platforms for the company so the project would be generating work items for myself.

Hi Nicki When it comes to issue types and hierarchy it really boils down to the workflows and understanding the purpose of each issue type within the frame of the project. There are now a variety of addons you can acquire to help with this, as well as discussions amongst our peers. Marketplace:…

I require a cloud solution. This looks to only provide Jira Server and Data Center currently. Thanks

Does it handle Capacity/Velocity and Budgeting?
-
There are quite a few ways to handle this, below I have explained how we handle this: We have a similar setup. 2 Service Desks 1 for Internal 1 for External which supports about 9 different software that our company maintains/develops on, each with its own Development project in Jira. When a ticket arrives in the External…

Changing the order of that list will not have any impact on your workflows. Only edits to the status themselves will impact your workflows.

Hi Sumanth, I believe you need to reach out to your administrator or to Atlassian regarding this issue:\ https://support.atlassian.com/

This one will be a bit fun to figure out since several different things could be your issue; if you arent an Admin you will need one to do a few of these steps. 1. Verify your permissions scheme for the project allows you to edit the field. 2. Verify that the custom field still has values in it and that nothing in its…

If you delete the value from the field you will no longer see issues linked that were previously using that link. I recently did this exact same thing and had to go into our system and do some Bulk editing of tickets to provide new issue links to replace the link that was about to be removed. I did this by exporting all…

In the old issue view, as an admin, navigate to a ticket that you are having issues with and at the top of the page should be a button called "Admin" in the list is "Permission Helper" Type in your user name and choose the "Transition Issues" then Submit. This should tell you which permission needs to be modified in order…

You would need to find a way to identify "Online" users in Jira to accomplish this. Currently, the best method I have seen to tackle this is by using something like Atlassian's "Ops Genie" https://www.atlassian.com/software/opsgenie?_ga=2.210068053.1100147438.1582570483-562642027.1582570483

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-23015 IF you use the "Share" function you can send notifications to a group, there is a feature request to implement this function using @mentions in the comments as well. (linked above)
-
I would rely on 1 project to accept the incoming and then have an Automation or Workflow post function generate a copy of that ticket in the desired project. Much easier to tackle, and if anything breaks its easier to work on.

My first guess would be to examine the workflow statuses and transitions. You can add "Validators" and "Conditions" to them that can prevent transitions. For example, in my Service Desk I have the "Done" transition blocked until the Tech chooses a value from a field called "Root Cause" which we use to bucket issues.…

Ah I see, from what I understand that is a core function of the field itself. In the cloud we are not able to modify this but the OnPrem should be capable..unfortunately I only have experience with the cloud version. An example of how you can edit the OnPrem fields:…

I use groups to isolate the projects. When a user gets on rolled the Tier 1 Techs add the users to the groups which is outlined in the Project permission scheme to allow users of Group X to Browse, comment, etc

I assume you have verified the workflow rules and that you made sure the board had the status mapped correctly to the desired columns. Sometime when i encounter issues with the workflow/ buttons I simply move the ticket out of the project and back into it again which resolves the issues 99% of the time.

See "User Filtering" in the article linked below: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/configuring-a-custom-field-938847235.html

I would copy the pages and test this before execution. We had to roll back our entire Confluence instance to the existing page due to a myriad of different issues. To answer your question, all comments should be retained when moving the pages to the new editor.
-
You would need to create a new issue type called "Features" then add that to the issue type scheme for the project. Jira is flat and the only true Hierarchy is Issues > Sub-tasks; so you will need to implement/train your staff on using the tickets correctly.
-
Yes this is possible, I currently have 3 different Service Desks running from our instance 2 with customer portals and 1 is internal to handle purchase orders.

I am using the Service Desk so my setup is a bit different, are the notifications going to folks within your domain or out to the public? https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/configuring-jira-cloud-to-send-emails-on-behalf-of-your-domain-900996548.html

Are you using the Service Desk or Jira Software?
