@Ashvin Patel it sounds like you will need a paid app (sorry), there are a few Numbered Heading options including the one from Koleti that @Zoriana Bogutska_Kolekti shared. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=numbered+headings&product=confluence&hosting=cloud We make one of them. I would test two of them before…
-
@Chris Collins it might be possible with a scripting tool, but it requires a certain skill level, small errors can cause a mess when scale them. Try it on a few test pages.
-
@Chris Collins yes Space Content Manager is a paid app on the Atlassian Marketplace, it does not use macros. It comes with a 30 day free trial, it does a bunch of bulk editing things.
-
@Chris Collins I mentioned Space Content Manager on another post re find and replace. It also displays and manages statuses. Overall tab has a content tree Status manager tab lets you bulk update statuses
-
@Chris Collins I would say that @Kris Klima _K15t_ outlines the options well. We have an app that focuses on bulk content management across Confluence. Find and replace is one of the features (works for URLs as well) - Space Content Manager. It's hard to get exactly your use case but if you want to repeat sentences or…
-
@Jay Maechtlen I'm not sure if you have any outliner cases you are trying to deal with or if you have new cloud needs. We built a Redirection app for cloud. While another app Space Content Manager has bulk editing tools including for URLs.
-
@Caroline Antoun it is in bulk, not manual. So if the change if clear it would only take a few minutes. This might seem counterintuitive but it has a preview. You want to make sure. Look at what currently happened, you didn't have a preview, made a large change and it has created unknown problems. I know the technical…
-
@Caroline Antoun use our app Space Content Manager to bulk edit links across your Confluence instance. Let me know if it works or if any use case that you think we should add. Space Content Manager also has other features like a label manager.
-
@Meenu Hinduja _ Dheeraj Sudan we have created a tool to bulk update links across Confluence. Space Content Manager app is cloud only, I'm not sure if you are planning a migration.
-
@DWedekind I just realized that this is for Server/Data Center. Space Content Manager is cloud only.
-
I'm one of the creators of the app @Kris Klima _K15t_ mentioned (thanks Kris). @DWedekind find and replace for URLs is one of a group of bulk content management features in Space Content Manager. Add all the spaces you want to look for links. In this example I did a preview of changing the links in our docs (we use K15t's…

@Rob Hean consider talking about in chat how some apps and macros do not work the same or at all with live docs. Example, we have a Redirection app that doesn't work as expected on live docs as it loads a popup which is not possible in a live doc. I don't have a list of the apps where functionality is different or doesn't…

@Uhl, Kevin-Daniel if you need a way to find, download or even delete .tiff files given they do not show as hoped then you might find our app Attachment Manager useful. WebP files have similar limitations.
-
Trust in Confluence grows when people know the information is current. Regular content reviews do not need to be complex or time-consuming. I so agree @Yulia Lenina _AppFox_. Confluence doesn't need to be perfect, but it needs to be relatively up to date, if not it's not part of a single source of truth (often along with…
-
@Anuradha Muddana you can get a list of all attachments in a space or select pages then filter by video files using our app Attachment Manager. Let me know if this solves your problem.
-
@Tracey Newton, @Brant Schroeder makes a good point about trying more than one app (if exist). Bulk editing tools are not native to Confluence and I do not think they will add a lot of them. Find and replace is an original feature of Space Content Manager because it was something we wanted, I was like wow this doesn't…
-
@Tracey Newton can you try using our app Space Content Manager. It has both a find and replace and a tool to edit links. I'm confident it will solve some of your problems, but given that I do not know all the details I can't say if it will solve all of them. It would be appreciated if you could share the results, in…

@Tess Baird @Barbara Szczesniak mentions in her comment, this is a well-known issue with numbered lists in Confluence. The linked ticket in her comment contains a workaround with tables, though I agree that it's far from ideal. Using soft returns (see @Kris Klima _K15t_ comment) is also a possible solution, but I find that…
-
I forgot or didn't know this, can't remember: view restrictions will be inherited by child pages. Either way a good tip.
-
@Anand Inamdar_Amoeboids I would add that another key aspect is having spaces that are reasonably up to date. If Confluence is not part of a single source of truth then people will not return to spaces to discover content. I say this as someone who is often the 'content person' and having built, and keep getting feedback…
-
@Fin Allen content management was mentioned by @Tomislav Tobijas and @Nikola Perisic. This is a focus of Confluence. A dirty little secret is that nobody wants to manage content. They both gave some excellent tips on structuring Jira and Confluence, this a already hard to do well and essential. Longer term you have to…
-
@Jensen Buck I get the utility of doing this programmatically. Bulk actions is often why using the API. Earlier this year we release Attachment Manager. Without any programing or CQL knowledge you can bulk download, delete or move.
-
Good point @Brandi Guess about automation. Preventative maintenance. Atlassian has been pushing Rovo agents and AI generally so much it's skipping over automation which can have specific and actionable use cases.
-
@김현석_포카_ happy to learn that @Peter_DevSamurai suggestion worked. Atlassian I suspect didn't realize the degree of the problem the API deprecation caused in this area, if did would have built more equivalences. But APIs have to change to improve, some trade-off required to move forward.
-
@김현석_포카_ as the maker of a Confluence Attachment Manager I can say that Atlassian has deprecated some APIs recently that have impacted the ability to filter by unused. Which is what @Peter_DevSamurai is trying to help you with.
-
@Hashir Ahmed Khan you make a good point about risk of data loss. Why we have a detailed preview, no action can be submitted before first seeing a preview.
-
@Cassandra Rodrigues use the bulk find and replace tool in our app Space Content Manager. It could save you hours or work. Possibly even more importantly it ensures the changes are done correctly across the board and no occurrence is missed. This is from our docs to give you a sense of how it works:
-
An overall goal of Confluence is to be part of a single source of truth along with other tools. You need to do things as mentioned in the post and in comments to keep spaces usable, findable, compliant and be able to flag potential problems so can focus on those pages (focusing on all pages is not a focus). As we focus on…

@Darin - Opus Guard great explanation. SOC2 (ISO 27001 even, especially in Europe) for the better or for the worse can be a minimum requirement, SOC2 organization has done a lot to sell it's brand. Even if Runs on Atlassian becomes better known this is likely to be the case for 1-2 more years. And even then it is niche,…
-
@Darin - Opus Guard I wonder how Runs on Atlassian will impact the need to have SOC2 for American companies. On a practical software security level Runs on Atlassian is in many ways more interesting than SOC2, it makes it impossible for apps vendors to access client data regardless if have SOC2.
