@George Ilie (AIGA Tech) this is really smart and important. Another example why it is so complicated: someone can lose access to Confluence without their account being deactivated. If they’re removed from the Confluence product but their Atlassian account stays active at the org level, they don’t show as deactivated…

George, I agree this is a problem that if left alone leads to messy Confluence and worse. Making Confluence better or 'less bad' is a battle and a bunch of little things add up. Bulk changing page owner is one of a plethora of things that Space Content Manager app does (I'm a co-founder of Easy Apps). For a use case you…
-
I agree, but the reality is that in you often need to apply multiple filters. Have to play around and see what if any issues occur. Discover other issues like statuses not updated, ownership problems, labels a mess etc. We designed Space Content Manager in part to be a diagnostic tool. It's great to make bulk changes, but…
-
This should directly solve your problem. Filter pages by last updated across your entire Confluence, not only a space, with Space Content Manager. You can also filter by orphaned Confluence pages (left company or not exactly orphaned but changed role). Yes it is a paid app, I'm one of the creators, but you get a free trial…

I get the impression lots of vibe coding. That is fine but it often means more pre deployment testing, while the AI vibe from management is it should be the same or frankly less. Hire some testers Atlassian. Are some good ones on this thread. Gift cards will do the trick

Bug still exists. When I clear post type and add category, I have the same problem with the other field. Cannot create a required post type. Bottom line Atlassian, I cannot post. I would call this a major bug.
-
Looks like a UI problem. Post type is auto filled, I have to select clear, which is in small letters, and then go back to category. The UI gives no indication of this and are no error messages until try to post. Should post type be first? Why is post type pre selected?
-
Major bug: cannot post. Category is a required field. Impossible to fill it in. No options to select and cannot create a new category. Tried in Firefox and Chrome and hours in between. Can save as a draft. Warning message when try to post.

@Matt Doar _Adaptavist_ I agree ScriptRunner is an option and there are complex use cases where it is better. Look at the script you shared. In my experience people with strong technical expertise tend to underestimate how intimidating this is. Tends to require admin access as well, so it limits who has access this…
-
@Anwesha Pan I just updated the post with a new section 'ScriptRunner (scripting) vs. bulk content management tool'. It is something I wrote for another post that's on our site (Confluence bulk content management tools (119 features compared)) and I realized it could add some value.
-
Thanks @Trudy P Claspill I learned this after my post.
-
@flaimo what are you doing that it consumes so much so quickly? The sheer number of work items/fields or something with how it was created. We build bulk content management tool for Confluence, and even our largest app Space Content Manager, that has a suite of tools, doesn't cause such issues. I'm curious what the…
-
@Monique vdB since you can see it has clear value and have realized it is a clear gap then I'm happy. Note: it needs to include filters by product. Example we have a find and replace app for Confluence. I would get so many alerts for Jira, JSM… as I could not filter for Confluence. Data Center is still a thing so it need…
-
Surprised that in 2026 this is not out of the box.
-
Pretty funny how 'Article' includes by Atlassian, as if it is a regular user. If partner has a separate category so should Atlassian? Watch how this is gamed. I can't see this going well.
-
This is a must have feature. Atlassian if you are listening you have an enormous suite of products, it's impossible to follow 'the community'. Without this feature you are basically telling power users like Atlassian Champions your time is not valuable. Worse the result is a lot lower engagement. Not a nice to have…
-
How do I create and manage alerts on the new community? Are the old ones now gone permanently? I see this but only basic tags to follow. Can I follow keywords etc.
-
The new community wiped out my stats for answers, accepted solutions, likes received. https://community.atlassian.com/user/profile/421a8f0f-d11b-4113-9378-3c3f7b9ba1d9

@Abaho Katabarwa _Katabarwa Labs_ I agree that cleaning up attachments in Confluence is a pain. That can have attachments saved but not appearing on any page is an example of why it is hard to manage even if it has an auditing/versioning logic. I couple of years ago we built this app for the Atlassian Marketplace…
-
If @Rohit Karanam the issue is attachments as @Cristian Quiroz is suggesting it might be we have a tool to deal with attachments in bulk - Attachment Manager. In this case think about: 1. deleting old versions 2. deleting large unnecessary attachments Two of the features of the app.
-
@Gabriela - LeanZero shared a link to Manage uploaded files. I'm not exactly sure of all your attachment needs but we have a handy tool for managing attachments in bulk called Attachment Manager that might save you time as you try to reorganize some attachments.
-
I want to second @__ Jimi Wikman point about structure. I will explain it like this. Confluence will become imperfect. If the basic structure is bad it can become a mess. It is much harder to clean up a mess then avoid the mess (how many of us as teenagers did not understand this). The good news with AI is that Confluence…
-
Another insightful post @Viswanathan Ramachandran. So well thought out. Atlassian should hire you! You have a great technical take on the problem, but I will add that no solution works unless it takes into account reality - humans. This idea that we are a few features, automations or AI away from a breakthrough over…
-
@Sebastian Krzewiński that's an open question, so forgive me for giving a general (somewhat long) answer. To manage/organize/cleanup in Confluence, you need to identify things at the instance level and be able to make bulk changes. If not, it's painful and doesn't get done regularly and as trust lowers of content so does…
-
@Akshitha Kankanala while @Rob Hean mentioned one of our apps for Confluence, a label manager is part of Space Content Manager, you can merge and delete labels but not do the search you are talking about. It is something we have talked about adding if you want to reach out stavros@easyapps.app. Or do you mean Jira? You…
-
@Barbara Szczesniak sounds like you leveraged Rovo well. For our bulk editing, clear previews as so important as users need to verify before changing. Hard to know if are exceptions without at least a quick review. AI is great, but it always gives an answer or recommendation with total confidence. I used to work as a…
-
@George JH if you are ok bulk downloading attachments alone use our app Attachment Manager. It works across an entire space. Possibly interesting are the filters, so in your case you can download only what you need or download the files in 'blocks'. Free trial.
-
@Viswanathan Ramachandran I agree with your point about Rovo: It will be great if Rovo agent does this: for example, moving and splitting the contents of larger pages to new ones. But it's garbage in, garbage out. Splitting is only useful if done well, if pages are a mess than Rovo will not split them well. So as @Rob Hean…
-
@Viswanathan Ramachandran this post is thought out and well written. You have articulated a pain point well clearly and some ideas to help solve it. In some ways the problem is good as it means the organization is using a wiki (Confluence) a lot and not simply low-balling it (playing is safe) with silos that hide lots of…

@Rob Hean I identify important content and label is "Yearly", "Quarterly" or "Monthly" How do you identify it?
