@Esther Strom not sure if you are aware, but the "what did you change" field has actually been removed in the new editor in Cloud: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/confluence-cloud-editor-roadmap-967314556.html Atlassian say this is because: "it had almost no usage, but added significant visual clutter and…

You could try adding the Page Properties Macro to a page and select the 'hidden' option, so it doesn't appear when the page is viewed - then save your comment there. I realise this isn't ideal, but it would at least give you a space to record versioning comments.
-
For comparing the differences between these spaces, there is nothing out of the box that will do this (unfortunately the Content Report Table won't help, unless you've labelled all your pages). There is a Contributors Macro and Contributors Summary Macro that may help, but won't give you usage of non-contributors. However,…

Actually, it looks like this specific issue was unintended and they are working on a fix - see https://confluence.status.atlassian.com/incidents/xx3084nmsk5b

@Brian Kelly I wouldn't expect so - they are responding to a legal requirement, with fines for non-compliance. However, in this post about the change https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2018/06/say-goodbye-to-usernames-in-atlassian-cloud they suggest contacting support.

It depends on what you mean by relevance? You could use space (or page) permissions to hide content as a way of personalising content, but that's not always an ideal approach. There is also the Recently Updated Macro ,which has an option to show content from the user's favourite spaces - but you users will need to select…

You aren't being affected by this bug are you? https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-66969
-
Yes, that's right - this is for GDPR.
-
This is a result of changes implemented to meet the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Atlassian's cloud products.
-
The Div and many related macros has been depreciated (i.e. removed) from the new editor - see https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/we-re-cleaning-up-the-macro-browser-946028471.html You should add your feedback about your requirement for this macro here https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-65774

What version of Confluence were you using and what version are you using now? It sounds like maybe you've gone from server to Cloud (which does look very different). Team Calendars has been an optional add-on for many years.

I've experienced little annoyances with the editor from time to time over the many years I've been using Confluence. I can imagine if you were happily using Google Doc for drafting documents with other people, then those issues are probably very frustrating! But Confluence is an enterprise wiki and was designed to do more…

@Simon Rummel I think the reason for this approach is that for a user to be able to edit a page, they first have to be granted edit (add) permissions in the space. Restricting who can view a page or set of pages doesn't change the underlying space permissions. So the ability to restrict who can edit a page is about…

Thanks for the update @Jack Vandemeulebroecke While I'm sorry to hear that you've been impacted by a bug, at least we know why now - I was really beginning to scratch my head about this one!
-
Yes, if they can't see the child pages from the parent page, this should have nothing to do with the macro. Having said that, you shouldn't need to specify the Parent Page - the default is the current page. Is the Parent Page "Access Controlled Plans" actually the one in the same space or the space you copied it from?…

Having words in the menu instead of having to guess what icons might do This has been the problem with other intranets I've seen where they've tried to do this - icons gives the content more room, but people don't know what the icons mean. Side-bars are for options and details on the current stuff, headers are for "global"…
-
On the screenshot I noticed it says the page was created by Copy Page Tree - are the page permission set before or after you have copied the structure? Also, how is the Child Display Macro configured?
-
If you are an administrator of your Confluence site, this is controlled via General Configuration. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/customizing-default-space-content-61015351.html

For Confluence server edition, there are some options on the marketplace that support this: * Fast User Switcher (FUS) for Confluence * User Switcher for Confluence * SU for Confluence
-
Yes, it is very easy to underestimate the level of effort required! There is a well established body of knowledge of how to complete intranet / website content relaunches, which will apply equally to Confluence but with some tweaks to the standard CMS approach bearing in mind we are dealing with a wiki. The first step is…

Sorry, there is no out of the box functionality in Cloud that we allow you to influence that aspect of the search experience for users or ability to swap out the default search experience for your own. However, for example, if you type: labelText:(meeting-notes) into the basic search, this will help improve results.…

Unless you want to create a user macro yourself to do this, try the Linking for Confluence app https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/166/linking-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview

My thoughts are exactly the same as @Davin Studer I realise there is currently a trend towards having a left-hand navigation in other competing wiki-like products and some other collaboration tools I'm familiar with. A primary left-hand nav may also work better for other parts of the Atlassian stack (e.g. I think it works…

I suggest you try a more appropriate forum to help you with Excel and SQL, like https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/

@Harshini T Confluence is an enterprise wiki, which includes the ability to manage files (as attachments to pages). Attachments on the same page, with the same name are versioned. Confluence is also extendable and there may be existing apps (some free, others commercial) that can support your specific information…

In terms of IP whitelisting, this isn't currently possible - there is an open improvement here that you might like to follow / comment on / vote up https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-2636 For your other requirement, without IP whitelisting, Confluence Cloud isn't really designed to support this use case. You could…

I can't make a specific recommendation, but there are variety of SQL related apps for Confluence in the marketplace https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?product=confluence&query=sql However, I doubt an embedded Excel file will work anyway, even if the connection to the Oracle database was working.

Thanks for the feedback. I will consider making it possible to add to any page using macro, but as this is a free app I need to consider the support impact that the new Confluence editor might create in doing this right now and also how I might implement other feature requests so they would work across all the options. I…
