Without getting into building a custom macro, you are a bit limited in how to solve this in Cloud. While not optimal, the best solution I can think of using out of the box features that will absolutely make sure they don't get any notifications is to take a slightly different approach: * For each page where you want to add…

Despite the breadcrumb saying "Confluence Server v7.1", the knowledgebase is in fact a collection of articles that relate to different or multiple version of Confluence (server and Cloud). e.g. https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/can-t-check-base-url-warning-in-confluence-6-1-or-later-884707131.html There are more…

Can you explain why you want to post comments, but not send a notification?
-
Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has been requested, but I can't see Atlassian implementing this functionality anytime soon when there are already many solutions in the marketplace for this. The form fields aren't necessarily complex, but you obviously want to store the results in the page (like the task list)…

I'm only just starting to get my head around this, but I imagine the issue for Atlassian is the ability of the underlying ADF JSON schema (I believe this is based on ProseMirror) to support nesting and then deal with transforming markdown, CXHTML, rich text editor backwards and forth across all platforms...

If you check the roadmap page, there is now a section about the conversion process and how different elements will be affected: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/confluence-cloud-editor-roadmap-967314556.html#ConfluenceCloudEditorRoadmap-Elementconversion

If you are using this macro on Confluence Cloud be aware that it is being deprecated soon and won't be fixed/improved. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/we-re-cleaning-up-the-macro-browser-946028471.html and https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/confluence-cloud-editor-roadmap-967314556.html Hopefully, we…

Can I strongly suggest you raise this with Atlassian Support. You could probably find them using a CQL search, if you can work out the the old user's account ID. But I suspect you won't be the first person to ask this and in the era of GDPR, an officially supported way of doing this would be useful. Or even a "transfer…

@Elaine H. you said: "we will focus on improving search results relevancy without heavy reliance on operators" Hopefully you aren't just relying on tweaking search ranking algorithms to achieve this. The software industry serving the enterprise is shifting to natural language and graph-based search solution. Is this what…

This is possible, but with the introduction of the new editor it has become harder because macros and functionality has been depreciated. You can create a manual web link to the file on the other page, but you might like to try using another attachments macro configured differently to do this - you will need to configure…
-
Why not just disable comments?
-
Its not just CQL - I also got differences in what it thinks within the last 24 hours is.
-
@Elaine H. are you thinking of putting in some kind of search builder? I think in the immediate term just allowing a user to override the filter and use any valid CQL search query would be fine. It is useful for doing things not otherwise supported in Cloud's out of the box features, like looking for pages that don't have…

Yes, the old panel macro has been removed from the new editor: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-66752 I guess using tables could be a work around.
-
Yes, as @sven sven suggests, you can do this with Confluence using Labels. https://help.nrl.com/ is an example of a knowledgebase that does this (note: server edition, not Cloud). The labels aren't displayed, but there is a some custom user macro used on the kbase article pages that automates the linking to related…

There is a Trello "Power Up" for Confluence, but it doesn't integrate tasks from Confluence as there isn't a easily available trigger enable that. You would also need a way to associate each task with a Trello card. But someone could probably build this for you, as there is a trigger when a page changes so in theory you…

Re: JSON It's a well known and widely supported open-standard file format. In some respects it could be better than the current HTML / XHTML-based format that Confluence uses to store the content of pages ("CXHTML"), as it does open up some interesting possibilities for developers across the Atlassian suite. You can play…

There is an earlier presentation from Atlas Camp in 2018 talking about ADF, which is essentially the same as the 2019 presentation except at the end it is a bit more definite about the new format coming to Confluence (although no time frames) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiZAHTHlPjk It would be great if Patrick Streule…

Great to see the old style new navigation is back! 😀

On further inspection, I just noticed a notation on the unsupported macro, which says: __confluenceADFMigrationUnsupportedContentInternalExtension__ I assume ADF is "Atlassian Document Format", which is something I've only seen in the context of JIRA. However, just looking at:…

@Helen OBoyle I did a bit of testing (using the Page Source Editor for Confluence Cloud app) and I could still use the Span macro (for example), although the new editor doesn't recognise it. So I'd say for the moment at least, the underlying storage format hasn't been affected.
-
@Helen OBoyle I guess from an end-user perspective it doesn't really make any difference if the storage format itself has changed or not, the end result is that content is formatted differently when viewed.
-
I've not seen anything to suggest that the underlying storage format is changing and I can't see why they would want to do that. Comments are still using the old editor as well.
-
Not in the new editor. Also, even if you could, it would attach a seperate copy of the image to the page so you would still end up with multiple copies.
-
"Genuinely puzzling" - British understatement? 🙂 I can see why & where Atlassian is going with this, but some of the product decisions don't make a lot of sense, but the argument appears to be, not enough people used them, or they confused some people.
-
Is it just me, but didn't the Attachments Macro allow you to upload multiple files at the same time? Now it looks like you need to drag anywhere on the page but onto the macro's upload zone. (The picker doesn't work either.) I mean, it does say "files":
-
Actually, I think this is more about the product management and user experience culture that has come into Atlassian during the time the business has experienced huge growth recently. The sense I get is that in fact they are approaching Confluence Cloud and the editor changes like a startup or a consumer tool, rather than…

I think the simplest approach is that you would need each parameter passed to match exactly a corresponding page name. However, I'm not sure about the security implications of parsing the query value, so that is something else you would need to check.
