I think you will need to insert graphics of the keys, OR create a user macro takes advantage of your CSS. Or maybe you can just add your CSS to the space CSS to autoformat your shorthand?
-
Are you using the inset link function, advanced tab? Just pasting wont work.
-
If you know exactly what is in the "empty" body, then you can compare it to that? Something like if ($body=="<p> </p>") Or more complex using RegEx If ($body.matches("<p>\s+</p>"))

This is a fundamental issue with HTML and browsers. The same thing happens in webdesign. So you either need to: * Used the fixed width function * Wrap the tables with a classed div entity (maybe by creating a user macro), and then write corresponding CSS (or creating a user macro that lest users define the widths).

I am a heavy user of the source editor (free plugin), and I have not been able to get that feature to work (annoying, to say the least). The plugin has only got updates to support new versions of Confluence over the last 7 years. There is a commercial version that also supports RegEx but their documentation is poor, so not…

My suggestion is to try some diagnostics. For example, use the browser inspect function to make sure the iframe is rendering correctly, and then check the console for error messages (sometimes a page refresh my be needed to see what is going on). Also, make sure that your jira instance is whitelisted/connected for/to your…

What if you add a dummy parameter to your macro? Does it work then?
-
User macros are your friends, and very powerful. I have macros that also call Javascript to provide action buttons on the page while in view mode. I wrote this article some time back, and need to add more: Getting-Started-with-User-Macros-Writing-a-Wrapper-Macro

Have you looked at creating a user macro that holds the PHP script? That would give you the ability to have parameters/settings, plus access to page objects.
-
Well you are comparing apples to oranges. WordPress is a CMS for hosting websites. Confluence is a wiki, typically for Intranet usage. I have used both, and they have places where they shine. Confluence is highly structured; WordPress is chaotic (why I moved to Drupal). As far as styling, you can do a lot in Confluence.…

Well it means being able to admin Confluence, answer user questions, support various plug-ins, solve issues. Being able to write user macros would be a big plus.
-
I might be a security issue that is preventing it from writing. I have a macro that is on a page that does write attachments to another page in Confluence. It is a user macro that uses JavaScript to do the write, but is triggered using a button (taking advantage of the built-in AUI). Clicking the button then triggers some…

When you say HTML macro, what do you mean exactly? User macro? Is this hosted on the Confluence page in question? Guessing your are not using a user macro, it would be the better route as you can mix Velocity (which gives you access to Java objects within Confluence), with Javascript (which gives you client-side…

@wesley_geddes, yes you could make that field a text field rather than a pull-down. But part of the point was to create some standardization of the statuses. The available statuses could be change easily changed by a Confluence admin, though

Is Graphviz available as a Confluence plugin?
-
Interesting. I thought it was some artifact of the OS upgrade. I will take look at the issue record.

I am unaware of any third-party import add-ons. I do know that any Word file needs to be cleaned up prior to import to decrease the frustration. Also, you need access to the source editor to be able to use regex patterns to clean-out Word junk post import. Bottom line, you will have to endure some pain to move from the…

I suspect that the mention function is driven by a client-side script versus the server. In other words, the user macro will display a user name in a similar fashion, it won't trigger the mention script/autocomplete, driven by the shortcut the @ key. However, all it not lost (maybe), as there is a user mention macro, so…

Sure

Well you can hijack the existing Atlassian UI (AUI) to create a pop-up: https://docs.atlassian.com/aui/8.5.1/docs/dialog2.html If this would work, we can then talk about how to create a user macro to do what you want.
-
Maybe you could replace them with a user macros and custom CSS?
-
Still don't see how selecting the text, then inserting the macro won't work. Any selected text is transferred to the body of the macro, which is saved as $body. You can then make the needed parameter equal to $body,

I have not used 7.0.1 yet. I would suggest trying to remove all restrictions, then retry. If not, this may be a bug.

Pass this link to our admin for him/her to install and then enable your access: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1210722/confluence-source-editor?hosting=server&tab=overview

Make sure you are indeed a System Admin and not a Confluence Admin. Only the former can create user macros. More details here: global-permissions-overview

Well you need the confluence-source-editor. THis will allow you to edit the actual source of the page, and then use Regex (If you need to ), to find all the fill:// instances and replace with https://. Boom! In five minutes, your problem is solved. The source editor is essential when working with content brought in from…

Yes, plugins give you complete access to the API, but there is more overhead in development. I tried to use an IDE before but wasn't that useful to me. I currently just use Notepad++ with Velocity language pack. I haven't tried it yet, but @Davin Studer editor plug in looks promising. I have used the SDK before for complex…

Sorry, you said class and I thought CSS. ;-) Yes you have access to Confluence JAVA objects and methods but there are limitations. Here is a list of objects available in the Confluence Velocity context: user-macro-template-syntax You can also add objects to the velocity context with some cleverness (this is not from me - I…

Looks like your macro code is not the one @Davin Studer suggested. He has a CSS rule followed by a div tag with class. You then insert your text (in list format) inside the body of the macro (what the $body variable refers to). But you may also need to write a tighter CSS rule. The "easiest" way to do this to use the…

You have stumbled upon one of the vary powerful, but under-documented features of Confluence. To first give you a simple answer, yes you can included a class. For example, here is a simple macro that sets a class around the text inside the macro: ## Check if the body exists #if($body) #set($display = $body.trim()) #end <p…
