Well if it is always the same page, you could have HTML code pasted into the page that you cannot see in either view or edit, but can cause huge problems. I had this recently with a user who had pasted in some of the outside of page HTML from Confluence. Once we could get rid of that content, we were able to save the page…

Did not know that! It was probably a legacy thing, and to make it truly clear you can do it? Or maybe the other function is not always reliable? I know I have had issue with that drag function while editing.

Yeah, getting started writing complex macros is a bit of a challenge, mainly because it is a mix of Velocity and Confluence Java Objects (not all of which are available in the Velocity context). So I use this as a reference: http://velocity.apache.org/engine/1.7/. And this forum is a huge help. There are a few articles…

In the server version, this is automatic with the page copy function (also an option to copy children). I take it that does not happen in the Cloud version?
-
Yet another reason to not use the Cloud version. ;-)
-
I assume the are using the /attachments-macro. There is a setting, Allow Upload, This option creates a drop zone on the page.
-
Is it always the same page? If so, it could be that other HTML code was pasted into the page by accident.
-
as long as the payment clears! ;-)

Are you on a Linux server? If so, did you open the ports in the firewall? firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=80/tcp --permanent firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=8090/tcp --permanent firewall-cmd --reload

As you can see from this issue, CONFSERVER-27077, it has been requested some 7 years ago, and is NOT under consideration.
-
Just highlight the entire table, then Ctrl+C then go to where you want the table and Ctrl+V (works at least in FireFox which seems to handle tables better than Chrome).

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- is right. Best to do the DB migration first, and I would move step 2 to step 1 -- take a snapshot backup before doing anything. With that backup, you can always set up a new instance correctly on another server and import your backup (in case disastor strikes).

Your issue may be that there is a soft return (<br/> between the two line of text. If that is the case, then the editor is doing what it is supposed to. Try deleting any break between the two lines so that they are continuous text, then hit return (no Shift+), then try formatting.
-
If you look, there is for each excerpt a disable caching function. Try selecting that to see if it fixes the issue: If that doesn't resolve the issue, then you need someone with admin rights to change the global setting in the console. Details are here:…
-
Check the cache settings for the macro, both at the individual level and then the global settings.

Sounds like a bug. You should probably contact the vendor's support. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1212279/html-macro-for-confluence-cloud?hosting=cloud&tab=support
-
Yes, you can use the HTML macro.Just place the URL inside the macro. But it will need be enable by the Confluence admin.
-
I think you want to restrict editing not set can view.
-
It is a free add-on: confluence-source-editor. I use it everyday to fix issues, or for much better find/replace.

Welcome to Word import! Clearly Word has anchors pre-installed for your convenience. ;-)I think they are links used for the ToC. I just delete them. I also try to clean out everything from the Word document before I import: * Delete title pages and and ToC. * Delete page headers and footers * Make sure that all headings…

Well having worked with Confluence for nearly 10 years, I have seen a number of these zombie issues that clearly aren't on Atlassian's radar. And eventually they get closed as "won't fix"
-
@mark.dignadice, it sounds like the classic use case for a true CCMS/DITA/XML environment if you want to have such structured authoring. You would have to push Confluence out of its comfort zone to having 10,000s of pages to get your module-level versioning, or change your goals and move to some sort of markdown to allow…

Well if you want two host names, that equals two instances. But since the public instance would probably have anon access enabled (just behind a proxy login), you only need a 10 user license. But the Comala plugin will support publishing to different spaces within a single Confluence instance.
-
As @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- says, it won't work. My suggestion is to have two different Confluence instances, with one to have just public information (even if it is behind login). Then using a publishing plugin (such as comala-publishing) to push public content developed in your internal Confluence externally. This twin…

Just the default name. I see a lot of Word docs where the user just manually formatted everything, so it may look like a heading but really isn't. There are times when I need to re-level the headings, for example, if the doc has a chapter title, then H1, H2, etc. I then go back and reformat so that the hierarchy starts…
-
Could you explain the use case? Confluence already has a database, so not sure why you would want to store data in an external database. But maybe I am missing something? I could see authoring content in Confluence, then publishing/pushing that content to the web, basically using Confluence as a sort of staging server. For…

First, great avatar. Did you try just deleting all the spaces in the heading? When I build links, I just copy and paste the heading text, then delete out all the spaces. I am not aware of any reserved characters for links except maybe /, <,>. If you have any issue with a really long/complex heading, jut add a short anchor.
-
The Word document needs to be formatted using the default format names, for example Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. And make sure your headings are formatted using these styles and not formatted to look like a heading.
-
Yes, you will have to look at developer docs for in he REST/API. My team has used the following to make development easier: https://github.com/rpcope1/PythonConfluenceAPI If you want to work with Excel, then you could just write that file to the Confluence page, then use the Confluence view-file-macro. I am not sure how…

Short answer is, yes. If you want to link to a heading, the heading itself works as an anchor, otherwise, you need to insert an anchor in the location you want to link to. Complete details are here, under the "Link to an anchor on a page":…
