Would have been nice to have been alerted to this issue before telling the hacker community. Every license has associated technical contacts who could have been contacted before going public.

Hello, I got hit be the latest security hole that ended up with our instance wiped. Didn't think it was too bad as we had the daily backups, only to discover the backups were not complete (missing those files). Did you ever come up with a solution?
-
This happened to me just now with the latest security alert. Had a server on 6.13.22 to keep in sync with contract work I was doing. Got hit over the weekend and discovered that my daily backups are not complete. Missing the exportDescriptor.properties and entities.xml. I think first is easy to replace, but the second is…

Just in case anyone comes across this question, it is still an open issue (please vote for it): https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-2442 The workaround that I have had to use is to expand the width of the canvas that image is on, for example, using Photoshop. The goal is to change the aspect ratio of the image file, while not…

It sort of depends how do you need to consume this key? For example, if it is just for reference, you could add the key as a label. If you need it for reporting, then you should consider the page property macro, which allows you to set key-value pairs, that them can be collated in the a report on another page.

To add HTML as code to a page, use the code macro. The HTML is to add code to be displayed on the page.

@Albina Abdulina moving content from server to cloud is a bit more complicated than it should be. Take a look at the cloud migration app to see if that will work for you: use-the-confluence-cloud-migration-assistant-to-migrate It will require close collaboration between you and your provider. It may make sense to first…

I know of no way to do that out of the box. Would be a very nice feature for the multi-excerpt macro (we are a heavy user).

User macros are your friend here. You can create what you need to have pull-down menus and the like. i wrote an article sometime back that can give you some idea of what is possible and get you started on your adventure. ;-) Getting-Started-with-User-Macros-Writing-a-Wrapper-Macro I have taken and used user macros to set…

@Sravan Indukur just to make sure you are clear, to do what you want to do, your user must: * Be given permission to view the space under space permissions. * The page tree you want your user to view, must start a root. This page tree becomes your more or less "public" view. * All other page trees need to have restrictions…

No, you can continue to use whatever version of server you are on come that date. Just there will be no more updates or support, for it or for any third-party plugins. We are facing a similar choice as well. Our plan is to upgrade to the last LTS version of server available by that date, and make sure all our plugins are…

Hello @Aakash Maheshwari If you don't mind that everyone sees the specific features of other customers, then you can just basically have pages in your page tree of documentation that has a notation in either the heading or page title, For example "Special Feature (Customer X). All customers would all see the same…

Hello @Ashly Montaño You guys are way behind the curve on releases ;-). And I think you mean server version and not data center. BTW, we are also way behind but are on 6.13.x Yes you will have to upgrade both Tomcat and Java. My suggestion would be to bring up a new server with the correct versions (clean install of 5.10),…

Hello and welcome @Muamer Because of this issues, is why we moved to this plugin some 10 years ago: scroll-pdf-exporter-for-confluence It is paid, but has a lot of features that will allow you to generate professional looking PDFs. It is what we use to generate customer documentation.

My point was that there is no native way to do what she wants -- it requires code work (and admin access) to accomplish. So my assumption is that writing javascript and deploying it is more than the OP is probably will to do. So cool script, but the vast majority of users don't have the ability and access.

Have you tried entering the escape character before that expression? IIRC, it is the "\"

Looks like there was some configuration change that blocking the requests. Did the URL change, or is rest socket not enabled? Or is the user credentials the macro using active?
-
Hello @Luana Premoli . Have you tried beating your users until they comply? ;-) This is a really tough issue to solve. And I have the same issue of creating nice templates, and just have people hit the "c" key to create a blank page. I assume you only want it in some spaces, so hard to have some solution that works only in…

I like the multi-except because I can place a number of excerpts on a single page (and out of the main ToC). Makes it much easier to admin common content shared by pages.
-
From the admin console, you can download the logs. The best steps to find an issue is: * Refresh the page with the failing macro. Note the page ID * Generate and download the latest logs. * Search for the page ID (or failing that, work backwards looking at time stamps). * You should see some warning, error messages that…

Were your macros written for an older version of Confluence? I had a number of user macros that when moving from server 6.13 to 7.4, did not work fully. It was because some of the classes had been deprecated. I also noticed that for inexplicable reasons, Atlassian restricted some access for user macros (restricted some…

There does not appear to be a way to do what you want. Some macros have an inline option you can set after inserting it, but this macro does not -- not a use case they envisioned. Sorry.
-
Hello @Sheila L that does seem to be a shortcoming of the native excerpt macro. It is one of the reasons we went to the multi-excerpt macro. Yes it is paid, but it does let you have more than one named excerpt per page, and has the ability to see where it is used. Won't help you here but maybe for the future? I did see…

In my opinion, that is little undersized even for a small instance (and I think it is outdated). You have to look at how much of the main memory gets chewed up by the OS and other apps. But that should support 100 users.
-
Are you using the Marketplace HTML Macro? I am asking because the Confluence HTML Macro is not available in Cloud

The scenario you described is much more aligned to server/data center. With your own server, you can have it behind a firewall, so that only those users with access to the internal network (say via VPN) can access the server. Then you could set pages to anon view. Now all your users are authenticated on your network, and…

You should be able to change the instance CSS to do what you want. You will need to play around with the selector to just get what you want. Or you may want to move a user macro to gain more control. Note, change the CSS will impact all instances of the panel macro.

Hello @C. G. , what happens when you try .getSpacesByType? I don;t see that method in the docs. Do you get an array from .getAllSpaces() that you can then filter?
-
Hello @Judith Rourke , I don't know of any way to do what you want to do.
-
Hello @Rainer Emil , probably a better place to pose your question is on https://community.developer.atlassian.com/ as this forum is mainly for end users and admins, and typically doesn't extend beyond developing user macros.
