Do you know if person that is trying to do the tagging is in a group that is part of the Browse users and groups global permission? Here's an article from Atlassian that may help: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-global-permissions/

@Michele Visser When you try to use the user picker field, it will only display licensed users. So, anyone that can be displayed needs to have access to your project and be licensed. . hence why you see what you see. This is intended behavior. What you can do, is utilize the Request participants field. This field will…

@Giovanni Cardillo When you attempt to do your next migration, if you select that same project from your source Jira, it will override the data you had in your destination Jira. I don't think you can cherry pick specific issues within a project, so, you'll just get all the latest from your source Jira. . . which is what I…

As @Joseph Chung Yin stated, the Organization field is a JSM specific field that has a very specific purpose that I don't think necessarily aligns with what you are trying to achieve.
-
I would recommend creating a custom field and associating it to a screen in your JSM project. The values of this custom field can be defined as whatever you want and it will behave closer to that of the Component and Team field. The only problem is only a Jira Admin can update the available values in the custom field.

@Trudy P Claspill is absolutely correct here. The two project types aren't designed to work together. You'll need to recreate your issue types, workflows, fields, etc. As Trudy mentioned, you will definitely experience some data loss if you aren't careful. I would recommend that you do an export of your issues and map your…

Many congrats to everyone involved! This was a huge accomplishment and I'm super proud to have been a part of this effort! Much love to my co-authors and to everyone that buys the book!

I recently received my first certification and I would love to share my journey!

I see, yeah my solution was because I understood your question as moving from cloud to cloud. Since you really want is to simply backup a project let me offer up a couple more suggestions. First, the importing of the attachments is probably one of the hardest, most confusing things to do in an import. I've done 100's of…

@Mary Norris - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!!!!! The create transition can only go to one status. Jira wont allow us to make it go to two different statuses right out of the gate. With that said, my recommendation would be to create an automation rule with the following configuration: Trigger: Issue Created…

@John Young The issue type isn't going to be returned by the name that you are expecting (like epic, story, task, etc), instead, you'll get a number by the "id" which represents the under the hood of the issue type identification number. Hope this helps!

Please make sure you go into my.atlassian.com to get your license key. Then go into Jira -> Admin gear -> Applications -> Log in with admin password -> Edit your license key under License Key by clicking on the little pencil.

Hello Hilmi, Have you tried doing a cloud to cloud migration? I find that this is super beneficial and usually comes with less headaches. https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/perform-a-cloud-to-cloud-migration-for-jira/

Hi Amir, Are you using BigPicture by any chance? Do you have any automation rules that might be overriding/setting your dates? Are you using Jira Advanced Roadmaps? Any way you can provide a screenshot of what you are seeing?

I would recommend that you look at standing up a separate Jira instance just for those 20 users. This would allow you to use Swanly and only pay for those 20 users. This technique comes with its own set of problems and might not be ideal, but if you are on a budget, moving those 20 users to their own Jira might be a…

I see the problem here. You can't do what you are trying to do in Jira. You are trying to make a Task be the child of a Story. And the Sub-task be the child of the Sub-task. Jira doesn't work like that. You have to treat your Story and your Tasks as the SAME level. That means that a Story can ONLY have a sub-task as a…

@Trudy P Claspill thank for this reference! I learned a lot from this post. I knew that that the manage sprint permission allows you to create/start/stop sprints, but I realized that the schedule issue permission will prevent you from adding issues to a Sprint. Thanks for sharing!
-
I've seen this before. From my experience, you only get this message if you are moving issues that currently have a connection with an epic. This means that if you are only moving a story/task, but not the epic, this warning will pop up. You may not know that a story/task have a relationship with an epic, but it's there.

I tried finding a solution, but will have to agree with the other answers here. Even when I search using the Sprint ID. . . it only returns the Stories. . . even though my subtasks have the Sprint Field filled in. Upgrade to a company managed project??

I got bingo! I used a minimum of one keyboard shortcut ('gg') to pull up the admin action view I marked myself in the comments when running a scrum FREE I made a few friends this year @THE Jira Guy And, lastly, almost every app I installed this year was done without first testing =(
-
Any updates on when this is going to be rolled out?
-
I'm not sure that I would have an answer. I believe the behavior is with how Big Gantt works. I would recommend reaching out to their support or looking up their documentation.

Happy to help. Did you subscribe??

I'd personally go with the Epic idea.. . . if you aren't already using epics. Or Releases . . because both of those will quickly let you filter in the board without needing to create additional quick filters.
-
@Trevor I don't think you are going to be able to do what you want. That feature is simply not baked into Jira. You may want to consider submitting a feature request to Atlassian or searching to see if someone already requested this and seeing if it ever gained any traction. Additionally, if I'm not mistaken, only…

I completely agree with Bill here. Your team might be missing the true value of being "agile" and working in sprints if you are pre-planning your sprints. The whole point is to reflect, learn, and pivot. If you already have your project plan in 3 months worth of sprints, then your team is essentially working in a very…

@Amy Vassallo I know you were asking for server and in addition to the articles mentioned by @Vikrant Yadav , you should look at this article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/specifying-field-behavior-938847255.html I made a quick video demonstrating how I would do this in the cloud (I don't have access to…

Yeah, it's tough without actually looking the the problem to see the exact behavior.
