You are close. You need to define a unique epic name. I usually call it the same thing as the summary of the epic. From there, I would recommend you add a labels column and name it something like import_date_of_import. Once imported, all you need to do is bulk update and update the parent-link to = the initiative-123

There is literally no value with respect to Jira. In the future it might have some value, but currently, it just causes more confusion than anything else. I typically recommend everyone ignore this functionality until it actually does something.

I recommend you take a look at Xray. I really like it and it's integrated with Jira really well. https://www.getxray.app/test-management?hsLang=en

@Reshmi Haridas are you simply trying to remove an old sprint value from the sprint field? Typically is shows as +1?? If so, I recommend you take a look at these 2 articles: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-clear-completed-sprint-from-a-ticket/qaq-p/1299651…

@Paula Susman You have a tricky situation. Here's what's happening. The user that is trying to start/stop the sprint does NOT have access to a project that is being pulled in by your filter. You can solve this in one of two ways. Ensure that the user is in the PEOPLE section of the project settings and ensure that the user…

@ardian.krivca You have a couple options here. First, you can do what @Yash Raj recommended which is prepare a CSV file with the appropriate linking and then do the bulk import. Please keep in mind that you'll need to be a site admin to import. If this is tricky, I have a second option for you. Import all the issues (I'm…

Hi @Calvin Smith welcome to the Atlassian Community! I think you might be over complicating this. My recommendation would be to do the following: Have 1 Jira project where your PM's, developers, and testers all work together. I would enable the backlog on your kanban board and have your PM estimate, prioritize/rank the…

Linked using the Epic Link? Or linked using Linked Issues?

I'm with Nic on this one. Based on what you wrote, it looks like you created the project yourself. That leads me to believe you created a team-managed project . . in which case, you should already be an admin. You can confirm this by going to Project settings -> Access and your name with the role administrator should show.…
-
Are you an enterprise customer? If not, I believe the only thing you need to do is invite folks to your Jira instance and when the time comes, Atlassian will automatically bill you for the new headcount. This goes both ways. . .so if you remove folks, your bill should go down as well.
-
I totally missed that. Great point John! The Timeline will give you a Jira Software's "Roadmap" functionality in a business project.
-
There are a couple things that may be going on. Are other people getting notifications? If so, notifications can be configured at a project and system level. Are you getting notifications from other Jira projects? Are you getting notifications from Confluence? Do you have multiple accounts and maybe you are logged into the…

This worked for me! The trick is to do the bulk edit for the Sprint. Not doing that, will not yield the same results. Once I did a bulk edit, the old values are indeed stripped out.
-
3 things for you to consider: The project issue type needs to exist in the company managed project The issue needs to be configured correctly in the issue hierarchy section within the global issue configurations/settings The plan/advanced roadmap filter needs to include that issue type in the plan hierarchy. I answered…

It seems like you might not be in a group that should allow you to do this. As Robert replied, you'll want your Jira admin to confirm whatever group you are in also has that Share Dashboards and Filters global permission.
-
Hello, This should be possible, but you do not want to export the issues. Instead, you are going to want to use the extension Jira Cloud for Sheets. You should be able to find this in the Google Extension marketplace. It should be free and this will allow you to SYNC your issues between Jira and Google Sheets. Then,…

Hi, Are you referring to a basic roadmap? If so, I do believe those are limited to only Jira Software Development project types. If you want the basic roadmap, you will most likely need to create a new project. With that said, if you are on Jira premium, you can create an advanced roadmap and there, you can bring in your…

You need to be a site administrator. Got to settings -> Apps -> Manage Apps. From there, you can uninstall BigGantt.
-
BigGantt is going to be your culprit. I'm willing to bet if you check the history of your issue, you'll see an entry for the change you made and then you'll see an entry for BigGantt updating the date back to whatever value BigGantt has.
-
Hello, Are you using Advanced Roadmaps? There is a feature in Advanced Roadmaps (part of premium subscription) that should do something similar to what you are asking. This is what it looks like:
-
Agree with first two answers. Just make sure that the Create, Edit, etc, do not have Any logged in User on the right side, otherwise, the permission will not have the same effect.
-
Hello, Do you have BigPicture installed? I recommend you check out the history if your Epic and see what is changing it back. If it's an automation rule from Jira, it will say Automation for Jira made a change. If you do indeed have BigPicture installed, you'll notice that it says BigPicture. Feel free to post a screenshot…

Hello, As Stefan mentioned, issues aren't created in boards. They are created in Jira projects and then boards have filters that determine which type of issues are displayed. With that said, you should be able to fairly easily determine if an issue is from a different project because it will have a different key. Other…

Hello, You cannot restrict backdating the worklog hours out of the box. If you use Tempo Timesheets, you can restrict based on the pay period, but anything is "game" as long as it's within the pay period itself. Additionally, you could restrict users from editing their hours after they've submitted. But, restricting them…

I did a simple rule here and wanted to share my "code" for the automation rule. I wasn't sure what kind of issue type you were interested or what kind of notification, but here's what I did: Let me know if this is what you were looking for.
-
I would personally recommend you have 2 different boards. If you are going to pass the baton between 2 teams like that, I would also recommend your workflow allow for the issue to pass between the 2 teams. You could then give your UX board (with the statuses specific to that board) and then the Dev team can have their own…

By default, your Jira instance will have only 1 role which is typically Administrator. You'll want to add another global role and then make sure that your permission scheme doesn't have that new role listed under Administration.
-
Did you import the issues as just stories or tasks? I would recommend you start over and do the following: Create a scrum based Company-managed project. Export your Trello work into a CSV file. At a minimum, you just need to have a summary and issue type so you import your Trello issues into Jira. If you have additional…

The Add People under Project Settings -> People doesn't actually add users to your Jira instance. That is managed through admin.atlassian.com (user management) and is typically limited to site level administrators such as org admins and site-admins. I would recommend you ensure that you have the ability to automatically…

Congratulations @Jimmy Seddon I feel like like I know my first celebrity!! Thank you so much for everything you do for this community!!
