Not only did they rename rules to flows, but they updated the UI without warning. In order to get to the "Flow Details", we have to open a meatball menu now and choose an option from the dropdown. Arguably one of the most important steps, naming and explaining the rule's flow's purpose is now hidden. I don't understand why…

@Shawn Stevens We have two primary site admins, myself and one other person, who handle most of the Automation stuff. Space admins sometimes add their own rules that are specific to their needs, but this is exceedingly rare. When we add rules to our Confluence database, we tag them so it's simple enough to then find…
-
@Alan Bruce we also use labels to group rules that are part of a collection or theme, it does help but after adding a few too many labels it becomes noise. We have also defined a common naming convention so that we can look at a rule and know what space it belongs to and what is the trigger action.
-
The only solution I know of, but haven't implemented, is to ask the user to type the name then try to parse that string within the rule to find a match. That task seems unnecessarily complex especially for our organization which has many people who use nicknames or alternate family names in the system.

I think I've got it working with this smart value. {{userInputs.ticketNum.trim().toUpperCase().match(".*?([A-Z]{2,}-\\d+).*")}} I must have been compounding issues somehow when testing .match() previously. Thanks for your help!
-
Thanks for this suggestion, @Bill Sheboy . Using your smart value, I didn't get the full issue key, but I did get part of it, which is better than a blank result. So, this implies a problem with the regex after all as opposed to a blanket issue with .match() I'm going to try more digging to see how far I can get.

Thanks for this insight, Bill. I've voted for the suggestions as well.

This Chrome plugin was shared in the comments of one of those links and it works great.

The changes have started rolling in and as predicted it is confusing our users... even admins. We finally got people trained up and now every menu they learned is called something new or the top navigation is now an endless side panel of text and the thing that used to be called Issues is now All work. Any day now…

The automation limits have become the bane of my existence these last few years.

It's not exactly the same, but I was able to make {{smart value}} work. Thanks.

Oliver Michael I'm New Here November 20, 2024 How will this affect fields in JQL search? E.g. currently, I can search for `issueKey = X` - will this now be something like `workItemKey = X`? This affects many other fields related to issues / work items? This. Exactly this. Am I going to need to update all of my filters and…

I really hope Atlassian is talking with Microsoft to get this working in private Teams channels. As it is, we're losing functionality. It's not Atlassian's fault, but Microsoft is going to listen to them before they listen to me. I now have to swap all of my Teams integrations to email pushes; at least that seems to work…

Thanks, Bill! These are great suggestions. For my immediate need I ended up hacking the information by using a dedicated project with each issue linked to a specific goal. Then I was able to run a JQL lookup to see which of those dedicated issues matched the Goals ID. This let me pull information from the dedicated issue.…

Did you ever figure out a workable solution for this?

This is the solution: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Re-Re-Can-t-remove-created-App/qaq-p/1967968/comment-id/523255#M523255

This is the actual solution.

I keep getting 404s when trying to use the API calls. I also agree with the previous comments about the need for different entitlements for the products and that this should be integrated with Assets, Services, and Automation.

@Matthew Gaffney In your screenshot, there is an option called "Require a comment on transition [ScriptRunner]".

Thanks for the insight, Bill. You're always helpful.

For anyone wondering, I did figure out a way to make it work. I stored all of the IDs in my custom field as a variable called userLoadout. Then I was able to reference it as a smart value in my AQL as such: objectId in ({{userLoadout.remove("[").remove("]")}}) That worked to populate the field during the clone action. I'm…

Hey Kurtis, We are using Microsoft Azure for our AD service. That is connected to our Atlassian tools and automatically creates users as they are added to AD. Since all of my customers are employees, I want to use their department as an organization in JSM. This would allow better reporting and analytics. I also want to…

Hey @Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira Thanks for your input. JXL looks interesting. We've recently started using Jira Product Discovery for our high-level roadmapping, mostly for the familiar UI. This app seems to offer a lot of that experience. That being said, I hope Atlassian shares more functionality across Jira project…

I was having trouble reducing my user count from 4 to 3 because one of my users was a Trusted User and was automatically gaining a license that they did not need. After resolving that by switching them to an Admin—congrats on the promotion, I guess 🙃—I still cannot switch from Beta to Free because it's giving me an error…

Hey @Bill Sheboy , I've got it working, but I'm trying to add more functionality. Any idea why checking if the id matches a string doesn't work? I'm able to use state or name just fine. I've also been unable to convert the id to a string. I would expect the following to print the name of the sprint if the id matches:…
