We already had Okta in place as we started with Atlassian Cloud, so we already had Okta handling dynamic groups, SSO and 2FA before Atlassian Guard. While we still have AD and AAD in place and handle rights there, all that Atlassian sees and interacts with is Okta.

Thanks for the very thorough article! I - as a success champion - personally follow the credo "community first". Why? They're literally millions. There are not many questions left that have never been asked and while I seem to have the talent to ask at least one of those per year, I can only emphasize to search the…

I think for Atlassian it's already happening. As I have to always keep my eyes peeled if Atlassian is using new data providers, I saw that as an example Google appeared as an additional general cloud provider in the list.
-
As a paid addon it will need to be competitive with the current marketplace solutions. As the current state of information regarding the functionality does not give the impression of being able to replace a current external solution, will at least the price be low enough to be chosen anyways?

thanks for this list

I shout a "Hell Yeah!" to Automation of tasks. I mean, think of it: You just announce a policy to your company by which rules auto-archiving/deactivating/deleting of projects, fields, rules, rights, roles, etc. takes places and the Site Optimizer is able to bring this to life 1:1? I actually got a shiver down my spine…

Really good example for the existing synergies! Will probably put this on my "why this is so cool" presentation if you don't mind.

Hello to all of you, I have been using JSM (aka JSD when we first met) since 2017 as a member of a 1st Level Service Desk turning to be it's Admin, turning to be it's owner in my company in 4 months and rolling it out to bury the old on prem ticket system in the end of 2018. Since then the Atlassian Platform has grown at…

I like the no b*llshit policy especially, as this is a real problem in our current times that information needs to evaluated and can't be consumed anymore wherever you get it, like reading books in my childhood - which I did a lot. If all members follow this special guideline, the community could be a safe haven for people…

@Branimir Kain I am also raising my hand as one of the "has a data retention duty for several years"-customer. We currently have an alternative extra-paid Backup Solution that secures our state into an AWS S3 bucket every 48h to ensure that our JSM data is archived read-only for 10 years like our authorities wants us to.…

Thanks Dirk! @Minh hung Nguyen is there a timeline? Because "whenever it's released" does not sound pleasing in managers ears
-
@Minh hung Nguyen sorry but what does GA mean in this context?
-
When will the scopes shown in the screenshot be available? Currently I only see parts of them, so for giving a 3rd party user directory read access I still have to hand out a scopeless one. Wasn't this one of the use cases you looked into when planning this?

I'm part of a newly formed team of 3 people - me included - and came over from another department to fill in the role of the Atlassian product owner as a full time job. Before that it was only a small part of my job. We are currently lead by our department lead as we don't have a team lead of our own and for 3 people that…

I plan to run the Goals, Signals and Measures Play with my manager and maybe he will redo it with our CTO. Currently a lot of my colleagues don't have the feeling that their work is connected to the company's vision or could tell how it contributes to it. Additionally connecting their work to goals in Atlassian could also…

FYI this error also occurs if you want to copy the content of a custom Asset picker Field to another Issue with the exact same field in Automation. So Automation is generally not taking Assets objects well it seems.
-
I see. Sorry that I can't point to the holy grail here. Maybe it is an option to add some optional approval statuses to the Workflow that can be used if you need more than one approval round. Still manual, but needs less communication besides the expected one.
-
-
The automation I made is still in place and reminds only the open approvals of the issue
-
could you elaborate more on the fact that sometimes not all of them have to approve? In general in the workflow you can decide if a special number of the named persons should approve, one of them or all of them. Additionally you could cut it in different "approver groups" and advise the workflow to wait for one or all…

and how exactly would a web request call like that look in automation?

Hi @Ree Kent thanks for addressing my concerns. I get what you did with the new system and I can see that there are different owners involved in the different platforms. Still I want to express, that no matter how much I love the Atlassian product world, that current process does not seem to be worth my life time. I just…

I still struggle with the definitions in Atlassian University. Maybe I already used it, but I don't see any points in the certification portal or I didn't because it's not clearly stated what qualifies as a "course". One of my certificates expires next year, so no rush, but still I am somewhat dissatisfied with the…

@Ian Walker yes. To circumvent the fact, that cascading drop downs are not (yet) possible in forms you will have to create at least two normal drop downs out of it and maybe work with conditional sections in the form to get the information from the form field linked to issue fields
-
I think you are confusing things here. Ian and me we are talking about "Forms", you are talking about the field selection in Request Types. As I already said: In Forms it is not possible at the moment.
-
I have the same problem. It seems there is no field type "cascading drop-down" in Forms, yet. Therefore there is no possibility to link this field type to a form.
-
The two biggest decisions in my life so far: * Recommend Atlassian to my company and roll out JSD (now JSM) as our new group-wide ITSM. * Get a transplanted kidney instead of going on with Hemodialysis. Both decisions still have ongoing effects that look positive so far and changed my work and life by a great deal.
-
First of all, thanks for your input @Walter Buggenhout We have a Service Desk Team, that checks all tickets after they enter the status "Resolved", if the reporting relevant fields are filled correctly and in a way that an uneducated 3rd person might understand. So there are like 6-7 fields, that were corrected a lot in…

Currently you try to solve the complexity in the workflow only. This is possible, but as you can see it bloats the workflow. There are some possibilities to tackle this differently. * Automation - You can have some of your workflow steps skipped by an automation rule. This is normally done if you build it like this:*…

I suggest you create pages in a restricted area of the space or in another space with just employees as users and simply move them to the public area as soon as they are approved. If you want to implement a real approval process and some automation around it, you can check the marketplace for some addons that allow you to…
