@Katelyn Botts , The is the default behavior for the backlog view. The two items on the right are going to be the version & Epic Link information. This is just a "built-in" for the view. As you already know, you can add fields to the card (bottom-left) but the right side is as-is. -pjd

@[deleted] This is not possible in cloud to pull issues outside of a JSM project into the JSM queues/views. The reverse is possible if the team has the agent permissions to the JSM project. You will need to play around with the filter and column mappings in order to see the JSM issues. -pjd

There are many ways to get notified by Jira and sometimes its challenging to determine where the notifications are coming from. A few more things to check: 1. Notification schemes 2. Any Automations created through Automations for Jira. 3. 3rd party apps that modify the workflow to allow additional notifications. As far as…

@Robert Wen_Cprime_ I'd be shocked if they added the functionality to a previous LTS version. You will probably need to wait for the next one. For those who wonder how Robert knows which SQL version works with what release, here is a link to the compatibility matrix:…
-
@zzalowitz You can control how you are notified by clicking on your profile picture and then selecting Personal Settings from the drop-down. There is a section where notification preferences can be updated. -pjd

@Daniel Tan , There are so many ways of using this issue types. The crappy answer is that you can use them for whatever you want. However, here is a bit of advice from my years working: task - something that takes minutes to complete story - something that takes hours to complete epic - the equivalent of a project…

@Moishamay Ndlovu Like @Jimmy Seddon mentioned, practice, practice, practice. The more you interview the more comfortable you will become and more familiar with the types of questions you may be asked. Hiring managers may cringe reading this, but you could also apply for jobs you don't really want. This would give you the…

Compatibility Matrix: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/supported-platforms-207488198.html

@John Waterman , You can't selectively import spaces from a site backup. Additionally, a restore will over-write existing data. You would need to export / import each space individually. One thing you could do is delete unnecessary space before the site export and then when you import, you'll obviously only have the spaces…

@Juan Ramirez This may be as simple as you configuration file not pointing to the correct JDBC driver or you are using an older non-compatible driver. Check out this compatibility matrix to ensure you are using version that play nice together: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/supported-platforms-207488198.html You can…

It's not always a great solution to have to go beyond the native app and potentially pay for something to add the needed functionality, but we Atlassian users are lucky to have such a large a diverse marketplace. gl -pjd

@Jeff Cadow he-him , My simple answer is no. The renderers are system level apps and not editable. Obviously you can apply the render (wiki style) or remove it from the field configuration scheme. But this is an all or nothing approach. Additionally, in this article by Atlassian, they delve deeper in to renderers and…

Are you looking for them to be added as watchers or for security to be updated so only those users can see the issues of User A?
-
@Dave Collins The workaround shared by @Pramodh M maybe indeed be half-assed but it is free and better than nothing. ;) However, there are several third-party apps that add this functionality in a variety of ways. Maybe one of these can fill the need in a better way. Agile Gadgets for Confluence Velocity Chart for…
-
@Andrzej Wielowieyski , do the people in the org chart above user A also have Jira access? If they do the easiest way for them to view the issues is to allow all users the view permission in the security scheme. -pjd

It's called a Market place Vendor account but it can just be an individual. https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/marketplace/creating-a-marketplace-listing/ -pjd
-
@Rob Horan Yes, but not directly. You need first upload the workflow to Atlassian's marketplace and import it to your Jira Cloud instance. Check out this article for details: https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/marketplace/knowledge-base/how-do-i-import-a-workflow-into-a-jira-cloud-instance/ -pjd

@JONATHAN RODRIGUEZ , Check the filter you are using to display issues on your board. The JQL is probably referencing the old projects and does not include the new project you have created. -pjd
-
@Randy O'Neal , my guess is that the error occurs when there is not a parent issue for the issue that was responsible for triggering the automation. -pjd
-
@Amanda Barber Try adding something like this: issuetype = Initiative & Status in (status1,status2,status3) to your JQL for the Board. This will drop Initiatives off as they are no longer in one of the specified statuses. -pjd
-
@Ron Sills , If you have an app that includes additional JQL functions like Scriptrunner or PowerScripts do, then this can be done in server/data center. Check any automation or workflow related apps you might have to see if they have included advanced functionality like this. However, if you are running on cloud (or plan…
-
@Randy O'Neal , try adding an additional condition after your When: component like this: This will at least stop the automation from running if the parent does not exist or is of a different issue type. -pjd
-
@Frieda.Projansky The statuses are shared among all workflows throughout Jira so if you are changing the status, like the name for example, it will reflect in every workflow that uses that status. Statuses are not independent for each workflow. -pjd
-
@Laurien Scoville , Unfortunately no. my assumption is that this person is a release manager (or fills that role) and needs to be able to update components & versions. Unfortunately, in cloud, the Administer Projects permission allows a user to do the following: They can: * move projects to trash, * edit project role…
-
@Laurien Scoville The user may still have access through the project level permissions. * Open the project of concern * Open Settings (Gear, bottom left-hand corner) * Select Permissions (may need to scroll down) * Check the Project Administrator Permissions

@Sai Abhiram Chunduru (XFND36) , The easiest way for you to do this will be with a validator. If you select the transition again when editing the workflow, you will see a link on the right for validator. Click into that menu and select add Validator. Use the Field Required Validator and select the Assignee field as the…
-
@Danielle.Hawkins , try using this JQL for when the status of an issue changes: Status changed FROM "status_A" TO "status_B" You could always add a time constraint to the JQL to limit the results to today for example. Additionally, if you have Automation for Jira, you can create an automation that send a notice when an…
-
@Sai Abhiram Chunduru (XFND36) , When editing the workflow, * Click on the transition between the two statuses and select edit to edit the transition. * Select the screen you want to display from the screen drop-down. You can use an existing or create a new screen with the field you need. gl -pjd

@Yichen Liu a few thoughts... * Has the user checked the junk folder? I know this is obvious but I still forget to do this from time to time. :) * Maybe there is a delay in the sending of the email from cloud? For in-depth troubleshooting, you will need to work with someone from inside Atlassian. I recommend opening a…

@Muna Khamis , There is a marketplace app called tinyGRC for both server and cloud. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218785/tinygrc?hosting=cloud&tab=overview If you are already using another GRC application they may have an integration built into there product for Jira already (this is the best way to do it). Not…
