Hi @Jerin Geevarghese I'm with @Bill Sheboy on this one....unsure of what you are asking. If, as you say "I would like the "Change completion date" to be set as a custom date picker field that the end user can select when they actually completed the task" then the field appears to exist. If you want people to populate it,…

Give the feedback to Atlassian. Other option is switch to the Weeks view....again not exactly what you are after, but at least the days are marked across the top of the timeline. Even Advanced Roadmaps doesn't provide this exact functionality, though you can add the relevant date fields into the views.
-
Hi @Dheeraj Segapalli I don't believe you can...currently. But if you hover one of the ends of the timeline, the dates pop up (as below)
-
Just schedule a daily automation rule to look for due date 14 days from now and set up your look up the same way.
-
Most of our boards are filtered by team and we have automation that checks reporter (via an If block) per team so that the team field is automatically populated for everything they create in that project.
-
Hmmm, not sure if that can be achieved. But, what you could do is have an automation rule where whenever anything is moved into Project B, a comment is added saying who moved it and an email could be sent to the initiator (of the move) reminding them to add a comment explaining the move. Not perfect, but a relatively easy…
-
Am I right in thinking you only want the field to be mandatory when an issue is "moved"? That could be tricky. @Grigory Salnikov suggestion is correct for making a field mandatory, but that will mean the field always needs to be populated.
-
Yeah, I have to agree. CSV in this case, is not a crazy idea at all. easier to maintain than a massive (100 task) automation creator or cloner.
-
Nice suggestions @Lewis Cook 👍
-
In terms of technical Jira solutions, I believe you have a good range of options suggested already. But I'd like to add into the mix, the notion that this is fundamentally I people problem. As you mention, Developers closing tickets and forgetting to actually complete the task....in other words "Meet definition of done".…

Hi @Chris Jupin Welcome to the Community! Rather than creating a Project as a template (which can't really be done) I would use Automation for Jira (which is part of Jira Cloud) to push out those 100 tasks. You could have this set-up to create them upon new project created (ensuring you narrow it down to only on "Business…

@Rodney Hughes I agree, it's a "stupid idea". But, I believe the below only applies if the Personal Space setting is ticked for your users "group/s". If not ticked, it won't happen. So checking a few tick boxes once is hardly an admin overhead. Once a user becomes active on Confluence and views a page, we will…
-
@Ben Shuker @Mark Thompson You can achieve allow, but don't create as per the screenshot in this post. untick "personal Space" for all the relevant groups and tick "Create Space"....again, for relevant groups. This way, personal spaces will not be created for new users, or IF Atlassian roll out this bulk update. But people…

Try something like this @David issue in portfolioChildIssuesOf(ABC-123)and "Team[Team]" = 123 I'm on cloud and it works for me...no extension required.
-
I'm a bit confused about what it is you are trying to achieve. What issue type/s are we talking about here? and what is your definition of Parent in this context? As your automation is not referencing Parent (for Sub-tasks), or Epic/Epic link (for Stories etc), it is solely about linked issues. The links from @Fabian…

Hi @David Welcome to the community. Have a read of this, it should provide the answers: Solved: JQL Child issues of initiative (atlassian.com)

I like that. 👍 Record Producer........for the record ⏺

For team bonding it is hard to beat some good old socialising (over food, coffee, at the pub etc). Harder these days. But we did some great "social" events over Teams/Zoom during lockdown. Silly stuff like: * Baking competition (best looking cake) + live eating by creator * Cocktail competition (Most orderable based on…

The Coconut. Hairy and thick skinned, but sweet inside. 😇

Hi @Benjamin Do you have the "Show full hierarchy" checkbox ticked or unticked at the bottom of the "Filters" section of your plan? As having that unticked should remove the lower levels when you set the Hierarchy to only show Initiatives and Epics.
-
Aha @Julia that makes sense...though other such fields (Team) can be used, if somewhat hamstrung. Anyway, simple solution. Create your own date fields (or use other existing if available) and use them.
-
I haven't ever used Target date, but I'm wondering if you need to prescribe the exact date format for the field. Work that out then have a play with some inspiration form Use smart values to manipulate and format dates | Jira Software Cloud | Atlassian Support
-
I would have thought they were {{issue.Target Start}}? But to get the exact custom field ID, go to Settings/custom fields....search for "Target" then click on the ellipses (3 dots)and select "View field information" the customfield id should be in the URL. It is on Cloud.....realise you are on server though
-
I second what @Mykenna Cepek has advised and will add: The simplest way to achieve this, is by giving the Developer and tester separate sub-tasks, where they can record their individual time, but have them roll up into the story to measure against the combined estimate for the story. In the below example the Original…

Hi @Avni Barman Are you saying that personal Spaces will be generated for all that do not have currently across all Cloud instances whether that is desired (by the person or the Organisation) or not? Should this not be something that is controllable for each Organisation? It would make a great offering to incorporate such…

Hi @Laura Burke Welcome to the community. You can configure the length of time completed issues remain of a plan in the Exclusion rules section of the plan configuration. It is set to 30 days by default, but can be changed. The only caveat is, the longer you leave them, the bigger the plan gets (over time) and thus, the…

Great list @Bill Sheboy My fav 3 would be: * Add copy-n-paste (component cloning) in automation rules https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-75521 * Add folders to organize rules https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JIRAAUTOSERVER-165 * Make all issue fields available to Lookup…

I like the Dear Work therapist Q&A. They are (often) funny, thought provoking and always informative into the way others perceive and or struggle with....this thing called work.

Honest questions @Matt Goulet What is /would be your preferred content creation tool, if not Confluence? If you could change one thing about Confluence, what would it be? (OK...you can have 2) 😀
