Others here might have some suggestions. Here are mine... Tempo Timesheets doesn't have an explicit "Block time on my Outlook calendar" option. But it does easily integrate with Outlook, and has a relatively new feature that suggests draft Jira Worklog entries based on events in your Outlook calendar. We use Tempo…

The article you shared discusses how the Scrum approach to projects can support the Computer System Validation methodology (which appears to be a highly specified waterfall approach to the deliverables between a Supplier and a Regulated Company). Jira is a very flexible tool supporting Scrum, Kanban, and other Business…

Hi Nate, and welcome to the Atlassian Community. This is where you can get help and learn from others. It's not really the place to request new features. To request changes to Confluence, you can go here to submit a Product Suggestion. Be sure to search here first, though, to see if your idea has already been submitted. If…

There are three different flavors of Roadmaps in Jira Cloud. I'm not sure which one you mean, but I know this frustration. Here's a screenshot from a Company-Managed (Classic) Project's Advanced Roadmap, showing where to find the Expand / Collapse actions: In words: The title of the "Issue" column is actually a drop-down…

Here's the official word from Atlassian on converting from one project type to the other: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/migrate-between-team-managed-and-company-managed-projects/ TMPs and CMPs are what they are. Educating users as to the most appropriate project type is an Admin's responsibility.…

@Rich Wolverton Honestly, I don't know about performance issues with Automation for large orgs. I would think that pulling the technology in to be Jira-native would allow those kinds of issues to be better addressed (rather than within the limitations of a Marketplace app). Can those using Automation at large installations…
-
@Rich Wolverton: The app/plugin is no longer necessary. Automation has been incorporated into the main Jira Cloud product as a standard feature (also available in JSM as well). This automation functionality was originally created in app form by Code Barrel. But they were acquired by Atlassian in late 2019 (link).

I don't want @Steven Haworth's question above to get lost in this thread, as I think it's a good one: ...how are you using the information? Are there actions taken based on how a Story (for example) remains blocked, or something? @Curt Holley, in your OP you wrote that your users had asked you for this data in Jira. So you…

I was thinking the same thing, @Darryl Lee. Creating a custom field for each Status in an instance doesn't sound fun, but it would allow for more reporting. Probably would want to accumulate the time more granularly than "days" (seconds seems overkill, if native; minutes or hours?). But then I remembered that the…

Use the "iFrame" macro in your Confluence page. More info here: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-iframe-macro/

The Roadmaps functionality is typically used to visualize Epic along a timeline in Jira. Team-Managed (NextGen) Projects have some Roadmap functionality baked in. Company-Managed (Classic) Projects can also access one of two levels of Roadmap support, depending on which Jira plan you are on: * Free and Standard: Basic…

Very cool, @Curt Holley It looks like each transition adds a new line to the text field - is that correct? So if an issue transitions back to a previous status, then that status will be mentioned again. Do I have that right? I'm also wondering why you ended up needing the second rule. My intuition suggests that editing the…

Not sure if this graphic helps, but I've referenced it to help clarify Company-Managed Project permissions. Might be too details for what you want? But I think it does cover "everything". https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/how-do-jira-permissions-work/

This is a continuing problem. ATLASSIAN: You are going to drive people AWAY from answering community questions if you keep REJECTING their posts for NO GOOD REASON. I recently created a reply using only typed text and WYSIWYG - no copy/paste, no unusual characters, ho HTML, nothing weird at all. Yet it utterly prevented me…

So it seems that using JQL in the Scheduled trigger isn't going to do what you want. I'm going back to your OP, where you stated: I want each morning for a new issue to be created linking any tickets that are pulled by this filter... To run a rule once per day, you do need to use the Schedule trigger. So uncheck the box…
-
I notice in your trigger that you have this box checked: Note how this says that it will execute actions (your "Create issue" component) for each issue in the JQL result. Have you tried unchecking that box and testing the rule?
-
From the OP, it sounds like the concern is that his rule creates multiple tickets when he wants just one ticket created. I suspect the problem isn't the trigger or using JQL. Is that right, @Jacob Rosenfeld? If so, it would help us to see a screenshot of your rule (similar to what @Margareta Buruian illustrated above).

I've run into some of the limitations in Jira Automation, but not the "multi-project runs per month" limit. And we have less than 50 users on the Premium plan (so a lower monthly limit). We have scores of Jira projects and 16 active multi-project or global Automation rules. A few comments that might help you feel better: *…
-
I too would like to see improvements in these areas for Jira Automation. My specific suggestions: * Automation rule steps (components) could be made more compact. You have to click into a component to see the bulk of the configuration anyway. * Also, please steal the "expand/contract" UX feature from IDEs. For example, IF…

It's turning out to be a very Friendly Friday indeed! Invites accepted, and poke-gifts sent!
-
I did not! Thanks for pointing it out. My wife and I have been playing together since July 2016. I just made Level 40 this week. Happy to make more virtual friends!

You can "accept" multiple answers. As Community Leaders, we really appreciate that feedback. Best wishes with your decision-making!

Hopefully you've seen this documentation that relates: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/advanced-field-editing-json/#Advancedfieldediting-JSON--Addinglabels I note that the Security list uses key/value pairs, and the set verb, whereas the a list of scalars like the Label field can use add and remove…

Great article, @Ruslana Smirnova! Thanks for illustrating a nice variety of ways to wring a lot of business value out of these Atlassian tools. I can't say enough positive things about Tempo Timesheets. I would not hesitate to recommend that Marketplace app to anyone wanting to level-up their time tracking and time logging…

I definitely agree with what @Mike Rathwell and @Kelly Arrey wrote above. I've been using Jira with Confluence for over 10 years at multiple companies. One of the key strengths of Confluence is the ability to easily "click around" to navigate. If you are able to designate an explicit "owner" for a Confluence Space, that…
-
It would also be possible to adjust the permissions on the Space to allow read-only access to the Retro pages only. What I like about this approach is that it's "self-serve" -- stakeholders can reference it if/when they want to, and no one has to be the "status monkey" spending recurring time finding the page, exporting…

@Lissa Meade I was going to suggest how the Jira REST API might help with your use-case (looking at issue history aka changelog), but I found this discussion which does a fine job on the topic:…

Indeed! I'm already using the new Project Created trigger. Will help us stay aligned with our best practices, and keep me in the loop about significant activity in our instance that I might not otherwise know about.

But ... I'm the only admin here who understands cron (lots of prior unix experience). Now anyone can do this -- I'm obsolete! Boo hoo
