Can you tell us about a method you use to make sure you’re not over-focusing on perfection to the detriment of an MVP? 2 things that have helped me in the past are: * Have a business requirement that you can compare functionality against. Business requirements are high level descriptions of what you need to accomplish as a…

It's hard to give people everything they want and ask for, especially at the scale that Atlassian is currently operating at. However, I do appreciate the transparency and acknowledgement of user suggestions. Don't ever change that! Also, looking forward to some of these new features you mentioned!

Can you tell us about a method you use to make sure you’re actively improving your skills? Gamification is a motivating factor for me, any opportunity for skill improvement to feel like a game gets me excited and into a competitive mindset. Where do you have room to improve in terms of building skills? I work on skill…

Can you tell us about a method you use to make sure you’re regularly innovating? I'll set limits on how long I will do things a certain way. For example, I will facilitate retros in one format for 3 months, then switch up formats. I use time to help me not get stale. Where do you have room to improve looking for ways to…

Can you tell us about a method you use to make sure you’re showing communicating openly and clearly? I've found that the minimum information needed for a communication is to answer the "What, When, Where (if it's a location), and Why". Keep it small and to a few sentences, and it will be easier to remember. Where do you…

Can you tell us about a method you use to make sure you're showing respect for all team members? I'm far from perfect, but I've gotten in mild trouble in the past for calling on people to share their thoughts in a forum where they didn't feel comfortable doing so. I am currently at the point where cross-functional teams…

Hello Kevin, Congrats on the growth plans, and awesome that you're setting yourself up for long term success. Here's some Atlassian documentation that sheds some light into how emailing requests works in Jira. If it's not working still we'll need to better understand what your other configurations are. As far as initial…

Hello @PwC We're definitely interested in helping you, but we need some more information! Can you share some more information, such as whether or not they could log on before and now they can't? Are they trying to access Jira through SSO? When you look in the user management module at admin.atlassian.com, do those users…

Awesome! Glad that removing that failed clause in the query helped! If you don't mind accepting this answer so that other people that stumble upon this question will know what worked that would be awesome!

Hello Melissa, There isn't currently a way to set up conditional logic on JWM forms, hopefully that will change in the near future. You'd have to create multiple forms (which I know you don't want to do) or find a marketplace application that gives you that functionality.

It shouldn't, Automation for Jira is included in Data Center - have you tried configuring the automation rule above in Data Center? Let me know how it goes!
-
Hello @indya kachela and welcome to the Community! Thank you for clarifying that you use hosting. As @Craig Nodwell mentioned, you can use an automation rule to achieve this functionality. I've included a screenshot below of what an example configuration would look like. Simply put, I'd choose the following: Trigger:…

Hello @Colleen , we can certainly help you out! Can you provide a few screenshots of your board configuration please (Board > Triple Dot menu on top right > Board Settings > General and Column) From the query you provided, it looks like you are explicitly excluding issues that are in the Done or Failed status. That might…
-
Hello @Ankit Mahajan, it honestly doesn't seem like a bad idea. Most people I know think of "something is wrong" when they hear the word "issue" but that's not always the case. I think if you wanted to rename issue type to work type, you'd also want to rename issue to work item, since the two are inextricably linked. I…

@Matt Doar those are great questions to ask and I like how they make you think long beyond your involvement! @Joe Pitt Absolutely necessary so that paper trail is established!

Good tips @Andreas Springer _Actonic_ @!

I agree with @Clark Everson I think you're on the right track but there are multiple ways to address it.
-
Hello @[deleted] , and welcome to the Community! In JWM, the statuses do map to your board columns automatically. This is intentional as JWM is meant to allow users to quickly stand up a project and start using it - especially if they do not need all of the bells and whistles that other Jira products have. If you wanted to…
-
Hello @Meigy Tsai , I'm not aware of how you could accomplish this in Cloud, the closest you can get is to use a post function as you mentioned or an automation rule. However, both options wouldn't fire until after the issue is created as you identified. On Jira Server/Data Center I know @ScriptRunner had a "Behaviours"…

Hello @Bryan Hord. It sounds like you got it! If you run into this in the future something I like to do is "Switch to Basic" and find the field I want to search against using the "+ More" option. In the screenshot, I can select the label field and pick one or more labels. When I switch to JQL view, I can view the query it…

Hello @Pétur Björn Not sure what you are looking for by asking if it's okay. There are advantages to using the SLA functionality in Jira, but there are probably advantages to using your 3rd party solution as well. I'd reckon that if you have a 3rd party solution for SLA management, that solution manages SLAs across…

Hello, Could you explain your use case a little further so I can better understand? I am not understanding yet why you would want to use sub-tasks but hide the ability to create them.
-
Hello @Kelly Robinson can you send me a screenshot of what the dropdown is saying? What's the name of the field and the field type? A workaround would be to use the Advanced JQL condition and put the field in there, but I'd like to figure out why your particular field is not appearing.
-
Hello @Jira User and welcome to the Community! The ability to create a subtask depends on whether there are any sub-task issue types in your project's issue type scheme. I would check the issue type scheme for your project and remove any sub-task issue types. For example, in a Jira instance I have the following sub-task…

I agree with the questions @Marcin Wiktor is posing here. I prefer to keep a product to a Jira project, and then use boards by team, but that approach doesn't always work. I remember going into one organization where a single team was responsible for the development of multiple products/applications, and they had a single…
-
Hello Kelly, and welcome to the Community! You're definitely on the right track, unfortunately the automation library doesn't support using the no-code functionality to copy the user value from a custom field to the user value. What you can do is use the "Edit Issue" action, then in the `More Options` section, paste in the…

I would write a JQL query in the Search screen and specify which sprint you want to use, then export the result set. You can use the typeaheads in the JQL (Advanced) view to figure out which sprint ID to use. Hope this helps
-
Hello @zstuder, and welcome to the community! I've seen a couple of different options in play. 1) Create a "dummy" sprint that sits above the backlog. This sprint will never be used as a sprint, but it creates a container in your backlog view that you could drag and drop prioritized work into. In your planning sessions,…
-
This is correct, I'm making an assumption that that's not the case here, but this wouldn't give us the real picture of time logs if multiple users are logging time on one issue. I think this is the best native, least technical solution available, but it can quickly fall apart. Depending on how serious the need is here, it…

Hello Gerard, and welcome to the community! Can you provide some additional details that explain what is happening when you say "Jira is not reading HTML emails"? Screenshots would also be helpful as well. Looking forward to hearing from you!
