I have always enjoyed Risk. My go to strategy (not always successful) has been to take over Australia early on and hold it with as many troops as possible!

One of my favorite reports when working with the Jira integration that is often forgotten is the Fit View under Jira Align Admin > Jira Management > Jira Sprints > Fit View as it provides a macro view into sprint alignment and progress between Jira and Jira Align across a Program(s). More info on the fit view can be found…

I found this online and found it pretty funny! It took me a couple of seconds to get it. "Don't spell part backwards. It's a trap."

I have always enjoyed Risk and Monopoly. Growing up my family never enjoyed playing Monopoly with me since it always took so long to finish. I also always enjoyed being the banker and being in charge of the money. The last time I played Monopoly there was an electric card system for the bank!

I've always been a fan of tea, but do enjoy a nice cappuccino after dinner.

I really enjoy using zoom and its integration with slack. I can feel connected to my global team when communicating over zoom video chats. Its also extremely easy to discuss something rapidly face to face instead of a prolonged email or slack conversation.

I really want to write about some of the Agile practices I learned from the military. I believe a lot of the SAFe hierarchy aligns really close to the organizational structure in the Army. One day I will write an article in the Agile portion of the community!

I can see this is an older post but, I personally really enjoyed the Jira Project Admin cert and thought it provided an excellent balance of Project administration and day to day activities in Jira. You can also take the certification test online instead of at a testing center. There is a ton of free training now including…

Hi Everyone! I started at AgileCraft 2 years ago as a support engineer and am now a Premier Support Engineer working on Jira Align. The acquisition has been quite a journey so far! I spend my time between our Atlassian office downtown, the Jira Align office in Georgetown, and my apartment in South Austin. I am excited to…

I know this is an older post, but I personally really enjoyed the Certified Scrum Master training through the Scrum Alliance. The course would be especially worth it if you could get your current employer to cover the cost. I am a visual learner and really enjoyed the classroom setting of the course and interacting with…

I really like the idea of having some time to settle in before the stand up meeting. I typically have a stand up at 9am and start working at 9am so I am always trying to multi-task through emails, slack messages, or whatever other distractions instead of focusing on my team's impediments and daily activities.

I agree leaving items unassigned in the backlog seems like a great option. Consistent grooming of the backlog can help prioritize the next user stories/ tasks to be assigned to a develop team or a specific developer depending on the size of your organization. This also leads into have a separate team and program backlog as…

I did Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance as I was transitioning out of the military and received an awesome 50% military discount! I had 0 software/IT experience at the time of, but a lot of the teachings resonated with my previous education in the Logistics field. I feel like a learned a ton over the 16…

Hi Scott, Thank you for sharing. I found number 6 interesting: "Team leaders must be sensitive to any significant degradation in team velocity that may result from a newly adopted architecture. That may indicate that the architecture is flawed or overly complex." I believe new systems, tools, and architecture will often…

G'Day Fernando, Thank you for the post! I have always found it important to relate to your audience and provide real world examples. I think providing real world examples on the benefits of suggested guidance can help the effectiveness of messaging. When I did my Scaled Agilist certification I really enjoyed hearing the…

Hi Rae, Thank you for the note. I have updated the setup article and linked to this community post within the article as well. The guide will be updated before our next release. Cheers! Tim

G'day Ollie and the Jira Align community, The differences between a classic Jira Project and next generation Jira Project were highlighted extremely well in Peter's list. I would like to add to Peter's 3rd bullet on custom fields that classic Projects use the Epic Link field to link Stories to Epics while next generation…

G'day @Yogev Tal , On the Jira Align team we spend a lot of time helping customers delineate their scrum teams across boards and projects as they scale agile to the enterprise in Jira Align. Our recommended practice for Jira Align would be sticking each scrum team on its own Jira Project and having a completely separate…

I really enjoyed Money Heist! I am excited for the next season on Netflix!

Hi Peter, A use case that I typically see is when clients initially start utilizing Jira Align they want to bring in legacy data. Legacy Jira Data prior to Jira Align implementations typically has a high percentage of sprints shared across multiple boards. When this occurrence happens Admins can set "sprints created and…

Happy New Year! I watched the Outlander series with my wife. We are excited to see season 5 in a couple of weeks! We are currently watching Ozark.

Hey Peter, Great Post! I have seen this discussion play out for numerous customers over the past two years. You presented both cases more eloquently than I would have! Cheers! Tim
