Yup yup! :) CCM

The username is stored as a string in many many tables. Your user management setup (local users, Crowd backed etc) and config settings in each can have a big impact on how cleanly a rename propagates. If you can give some background on your user directory setup, the community might be able to provide a solution. CCM

Hi Shriya, I think it'll depend on the API calls you need to use. While there's overlap between the APIs, there are differences. * https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/software/rest/ - cloud * https://docs.atlassian.com/jira-software/REST/7.3.1/ - server CCM

Hi Mark, If your underlying business need is "consistent group access across ~ 300 projects" - my suggestion would be using a permission scheme for this set of projects and granting the group access at the permission scheme level. While Sreenivasaraju's SQL looks correct, doing any writes directly in the DB is dangerous -…

Hey Zhenis - sorry for the delay, I've been busy/travelling - believe Matt S. has scheduled a call next Tuesday with yourself and Jakub K. to discuss this during our TAM workshop. CCM

We've just been hit by this "feature" when migrating from Cloud to Server. The export has the external_id as qm:hash:hash - which is 64 characters long, when this gets imported in to a server environment, the CALLER field in the OS_HISTORYSTEP table is a varchar(60), so this caused the import to fail. Our current fix was -…

Hey Cameron, Thanks for the reply, and good to hear there’s at least conversations. I’m sure there’s many competing priorities and juggling them all is a challenge. Would be great to catch up again next time you’re in town. I have a bit of travel coming up, but if/when you have dates yell out and hopefully the stars align.…

Up-voting for "inflict" being the verb you used.

Hi Erica, Just wanted to let you know there's a Jobs & Careers Group (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jobs-Careers/gp-p/JobsCareers) that you might like to cross-post this opportunity to as well. CCM

Following on from globally distributed performance, there's no officially supported CDN approach, but with reverse engineering and a bunch of testing, we implemented a configuration that helps significantly (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-discussions/CDN-CloudFront-and-Atlassian-Server-apps/m-p/731230#M2361), but…

Hi Judeb0y, Any reason why you need SQL over the global permissions page available at https://jira.example.org/secure/admin/GlobalPermissions!default.jspa ? CCM

Hey David, did you remove the old driver, or just add the new one in the lib directory? Check your catalina.out file from the last startup and it will tell you which driver file it used. CCM

The DC product line doesn’t support geo-redundancy - which as a global enterprise would be a huge benefit, both performance in various locations and for HA/DR. While I’m sure there’s many technical changes that would need to happen to, I’d see the most crucial blocker is that all the DB tables run off auto incrementing…

That is likely just no CSS Being loaded (check your developer tools in chrome/Firefox etc) and you’ll likely have 404s or other error responses on your JS and CSS files. If you’re running anything more than ipaddress:port (you have a hostname/using port 80 or 443), check your server.xml settings have been configured to…

Do you have a reverse proxy in front of jira - eg: nginx or Apache? CCM

Hey Neil, Without digging deeper, I'm out of suggestions at the moment. Given there's no private messaging on here, do you want to find me on LinkedIn (I have a unique name so should be easy to find). Drop me a message and happy to see if we can line up a quick chat to go through it. CCM

When all else fails, change your definition of done :) Glad it helped. CCM

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Export-Estimates-in-hours-Day/qaq-p/58647 goes in to some code examples for shifting from seconds to hours that should be helpful. CCM

A quick (dirty) fix if it’s urgent/outage is to find the location of your git 1.7.1 binary, move it out of the way and symlink that location to your 2.9.3 binary. CCM

To confirm - are you running this as the same user the Bitbucket service is running as? Could be a user specific issue. CCM

I came by the booth and got my community shirt so got to represent on the flight home! I've found my experience at Summits have changed over the 5 years I've been attending as the number of talks I've been to has dropped off (with a plan of watching recordings after, but often not doing so) but spending the time…

Thanks for setting up the new group @Maggie - looking forward to sharing stories from the trenches with everyone. While there's obviously overlap with users in smaller environments, there's a set of struggles that only become apparent after a certain size and/or complexity. Technology is only part of the struggle,…

Hi Konstantinos, How much spare RAM does the server have you're trying to start Confluence on? If this is a Linux box "free -m" should give you the answer. CCM

Hey Neil, The way I start testing is finding a call for a /s/ item, opening it in a new tab and refreshing a few times and monitoring the Header x-cache and see if it changes from Miss to Hit. I also added the x-cache header as a custom column in the network panel, makes it easy to see at a glance how many items are…

Hi Denise, Thanks for taking the time at Summit to demo this great tool. Definitely planning on checking it out and seeing how it can benefit our team. CCM

I did a write up (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-discussions/CDN-CloudFront-and-Atlassian-Server-apps/m-p/731230#M2361) on boosting performance using AWS cloudfront. The underlying principles should be the same in terms of cache/bypass rules but the implantation in CloudFlare or other CDNs would differ. Hope it’s…

Hi, Don’t believe this is (easily) possible. While you could use an addon (in place translations) to change the text from Create linked issue to create action item, this would be done system wide - even if the user wanted to create a linked issue of a different issue type. You may be able to make a custom UI button that…

Agree with both the above (progress updates for long running tasks and upgrade specific logs). It’d be amazing if you took a big win from the Bitbucket team too and moved all (or at least more) of the config (seraph, server.xml, Crowd.properties etc) out of the application directory and in to the data dir and/or…

We had a portion of our users wanting absolute and a portion wanting relative - using the setting above is a system wide setting though. We’ve been using https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215652/relative-time-converter?hosting=server&tab=overview though and it supports displaying both relative and absolute - been a…
